Awesome..... App permissions are interesting. Yes, not all apps will be accessing your private information, however for any of them to be able to access my private details etc is crazy! I have nothingto hide but that does not mean iwant people on a random computer somewhere to be able to make calls or send texts as if they are me.........
Thank you! I'm giving this 5 stars right from go for designing software that's geared toward a more appropriate future. If we dont protect our freedoms, America's gonna become land of the fee, home of the slave with big brother watching your every move! Yikes! This app also watches the auto updating apps and flags you when they update behind your back. DCentral1 rocks!!.
It does what it says. But this is all disclosed to the user when purchasing the apps. The only benefit is that it's aggregated together to show what you already approved. I see no real benefit if you were already paying attention to this stuff. EDIT: this app should monitor when apps actively make use of location, mic, or camera. That would be nice. Spot it when it's using the camera, mic or location etc.
Eye opener. Obviously the biggest offender was google play services. Shocker, google spying on us? Gee ya think? After first update there is a 0 threat rating for this app. It's the only app with a 0. Before the update I believe it was like 5 or 9. Which is still low but 0 is awesome. UPDATE : I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DEVICE THAT WILL FOLLOW THIS AMAZING APP.
Best app, small problem This app is infinitely useful and I feel safer having installed it. However, small issue when viewing permissions that apps have and that's that I cannot scroll to see beyond first three permissions on any list. Other than that, fantastic app and I don't know why there aren't more than 10,000 downloads of it.
Nice Idea, But Needs Some Work I love the idea behind the app, namely that users should be more aware of what permissions apps are requesting. But, as others have noted, it has a couple of annoying features. First, the app doesn't provide any way to turn off the pop-ups that are displayed when an app is updated. This is doubly annoying because I check app permissions in the Play Store before I update an app. Second, the detail screen of app permissions doesn't scroll. ¶Eagerly awaiting more John McAfee videos!
- Fixed some crashes on older versions of Android.
- Removed the online help text request (thus eliminated 2 of the permissions DCentral1 required).
- Edited the name and description of some permissions.
