Very useful. Easy to use. Android version rarely updated and missing features the old Win mobile and palm versions had years ago. Lost all data with last Android update. Was able to restore dbs with old data from my pc.
It had improved but still a lot to be done When are we going to be able to edit and modify views not only on the PC but with-in the device? Why do we have the option but it makes the system crash when we try it? Is been a long time since you said " we are working on it" and nothing had happen, still no field type for scanning UPCs. I'm sorry is taking so long to catch-up with other versions, it was for me a great app and I loved it on my Palm, but this android version still way behind compared with it's older sister the Palm version. About the form
I use HanDBase every single day. For some unknown reason (at least I can't figure it out), there are very few database apps around. Every office suite seems to cover all the bases, even Microsoft for every productivity program there is, except the database (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and even Outlook, but no Access.) Why? I have been using HanDBase since Palm OS days, and continued when I got my iPad and now my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. It works well for the most part, but I am extremely bothered by the way the Android version of it is so far behind the Apple version (still no Barcode scanning ability or external field support.) Updates happen so seldom it feels like an abandoned app. The form ability is a complete mess. As a long time user I really want this to be a 5 star app, but it's almost like Android support is an afterthought. I didn't feel cheated when I paid $10 for it on my iPad, but the Android version is only worth $5. It really doesn't seem to have many more features than my Palm OS version all those years ago. If there was a version of Smart-Lists-To-Go from the Palm OS days, I grab it, but as it is HanDBase is pretty much the only database app available on Android that comes close to what I need.
Was a Great App I have been using this app for years on my Galaxy S2 and loved.it. Now that I have a S6 Edge, it is pretty well useless. I have to make the font so small that it's hard to read. Have to do this so that it will fit in the row. The check boxes have a very thin border and hard to see. To make this app compatible with new phones with hi res screens it needs variable height rows with multi line support and the ability to change the line width of check boxes.
A wise investment! This is one of the few apps I've actually ever paid for, and I couldn't have spent my dollars more wisely. I've been using one or another version of HandBase since its earliest iterations for the Palm IIIxe (remember those?) - and when I made the move to Android I wondered if it would prove as sturdy and reliable as it had been on the Palm, especially since I am no longer using a computer Desktop component for sync'ing. I should not have been surprised - HandBase is as robust, versatile, easily customizable and steady a program as it has always been. Tech support is also responsive and helpful. When the recent unexpected death of my Galaxy S3 left me completely unprepared for the loss of several databases and templates, I was guided well into reconstructing and recovering what I could - and given TWO options in how to do it (the choice was mine). I like having the flexibility to do extreme customization for my databases but I also like knowing that tech support has my back and wants me to succeed in using this app. I can't imagine NOT using it, and each day I find more ways to incorporate its record-keeping into simplifying my life.
Disappointing I am disappointed with the lack of features. No report or form generator, no backup. Sync between devices or desktop version clumsy or to complicated because of lack of MTP. No barcode field. I am happy to pay a decent sum for a good DB but this one is rather a disappointment for the price it cost. I also don't like the fact that the developer never mentioned lack of MTP support which makes synchronizing with desktop difficult.Have switched to Sailforms Pro and never looked back.
