Online check-in feature is broken, complaining "Please enter a valid date" on the input for the date of birth / passport expiration date. The input is totally valid. In fact, the form is not a text area, but a selection, which makes it impossible to put a wrong content in the form. Passport Information view is also broken, it is most likely sharing the same program code. I was forced to check-in from a PC. I'm a professional coder. Assessing the other complaints about the bugs, I conclude that the dev team does not even have the minimum unit tests despite being the flagship app of the company. What a shame...
The functionality that the app provides is great: when it works. I find it soooo sensitive to slow data connections that I get the "Sorry, that didn't work" message more often than I should. The developers need to think about 2 things in particular: 1) just because a device has airplane mode turned on doesn't mean that the device cannot access a data connection (I usually carry two devices with one tethered over WiFi but with airplane mode on), and 2) when a plane full of people touch down on the runway and everybody turns off airplane mode and accesses the cellular network simultaneously, network latency will increase. You need to increase the timeout setting before giving up and displaying "Sorry, that didn't work". Multiply this effect by many airplanes at the major airports. Get out of your WiFi enabled Dev area and do some field testing please!!
Same issue as other people. When i go through tsa I get wrong airport code. Can't check seats on app anymore. Worked great before most recent update...
The latest update June 2017 doesn't check you in thru all your segments. Segment 1 will have the boarding time for segment 2. Then when you go thru TSA at your origination, TSA machine blinks RED and says "wrong airport." Worked pretty well before this update. You need better UAT testing.
Horribly unreliable app. Know your login and password? GREAT, won't stop you from being locked out 5 hours before your flight, oh, and delta will call you back in 2 hours and disconnect you. Not fun.
Unpredictable reliability of the updates. Fundamental and critical features of the app are often broken in updates. Worse the developer has proven over time that they are unable to address these issues quickly. I got swindled into this update because they appears to have finally fixed the offline mode bugs. Come to find out that the new bug is incorrect flight information and boarding passes. Great. This just the latest example in a growing list of missteps. Hopefully someone in the chain of command will take steps to improve the deficiencies in the development cycle.
