Fest.AR is a festival of augmented reality and urban languages, and transits between issues of contemporary memory, heritage and art. Above all, in the face of physical isolation and the revision of human relations, this project proposes urban drift, the reappropriation of the city and its histories.
We propose to develop editions with varied themes and curatorships, with the objective of creating interactive solutions in the city using augmented and mixed reality as main tools.
We are a multidisciplinary group, and we seek to develop socio-cultural projects that reactivate spaces, places, monuments, urban arts and meanings in cities. To this end, we propose experiences that question urban memory and its values through playful implementations: time travel, reconstruction and heritage activation, democratization of urban space, interactivity, expanded art, etc. Among the themes of our proposals are monuments and invisible narratives in the city, appropriating augmented reality as an instrument for reactivating and reinserting missing stories.
Our projects thus work with the dynamics of making invisible urban layers visible, with an emphasis on suppressed characters and facts beyond traditional narratives, such as missing graffiti; insertion of new virtual monuments of figures deleted from the stories; historical review according to democratic narratives; reactivation of forgotten spaces and urban histories.
FestAR wishes to transform public space into a democratic place whose heritage is collaborative and open.
