I love NOT having to lug bulky, heavy books around with me. With the Deseret Bookshelf, I have hundreds of high quality, spiritually uplifting books at my fingertips anywhere and anytime I want to read or listen. I'm able to highlight and bookmark allowing me to relocate something I found helpful or enriching. It's a fantastic, well thought out app!
It's great for listening to many good books. They also allow for up to 2.5x speed, which I like. However: Searching for books is nearly impossible with the app, it is far easier to search online, unless you know exactly what you want. Downloading books is a chore. I only seem to be able to download one at a time, and off I switch off the download page it seems to stall. There are not enough settings options, I'd like to be able to direct where books are downloaded to.
I haven't even used the new app yet but it doesn't make for a very good user experience when there is incorrect grammar on the second screen of the introduction to the app. I don't know if this is going to let me submit a screen shot but it says "we build our search to be the most robust and powerful than ever before" who wrote that? Is English their second language? Just sayin' it's kind of embarrassing. I'm sure they just changed their thought process mid sentence. I do it sometimes too. Just make sure you fix it before the next update. Also, another thing I just thought of: it would be cool if there was a daily quote widget for android users so you could just see the new quote on one of your home screens each day without even having to open the app! "Be inspired. Always."
Rubbish design after update bookmarks don't work, so fustrating because it takes you to the beginning of each chapter Don't buy ebooks because you cannot read them, waste of monry
I'm grateful for this App. It is a true blessing to have. Thank you!
Poor user onboarding
