Love it Use daily on my Samsung Note 4 and now on galaxy tab S2 9.7. Always works and easy to use. Like another reviewer, I exported data list from my phone to my tablet via email and data automatically loaded; excellent undocumented feature. On galaxy tab S2 9.7 no menu 3 dots is available but holding the lit back icon button opens the menu and settings.
Doesn't Work at all on a Galaxy S5 Really wanted this App to work, but after a day of trying everything I could think of, I can never get it to start. It does not change the Home button actions in any way of manner. Either Samsung has the Home button locked down in functionality, or Textspander just doesn't work. Sadly I am removing this App. Bummer. I can't figure out why Android phones don't allow App access directly to the keyboard. Even Apple, in its paranoid locked iOS, allows keyboard text expansion. Come on Android, get with it!
It works I don't have a search button, so thanks for the work-around status drop down option. I was looking for an auto complete but this will work for now as its the only one I can find to do the job.
Too many taps necessary To use this on my Nexus 7 I need to tap swipe tap tap long tap and tap. That's way too cumbersome.
Great, simple LOVE Textspansion. Recently I got a new phone and thought I was going to have to re-enter all my snippets. I was pleased to see I could export - but WHERE oh WHERE was import. I exported to email, and when I opened the email on my phone and clicked the XML file my phone gave me the option to import into Textspansion. So while it does not appear to be documents, it's fast, simple, and easy. For those with no search button, the access icon will also appear in the drop-menu which should be available from anywhere. I've also tried the ones that use the keyboard with little success. On the phone, this is the best I've found. Kudos.
Excellent functionality OK, it's not a true text expander, nor a text shortcuts handler. It's kind of a clipboard filler, but it works fine. I use it as the alternative to the PalmOS Palm Shortcuts (native app) and ShortCut5 (3rd party app), none of which are yet available in Android. Placed in the Notifications Drawer, it's always at reach and its functionality doesn't depend on app compatibility. Kudos! - Samsung Galaxy Core 2
