Horrible It doesn't actually expand your phrases. You copy / paste it. I might as well write it out then without needing the app...
Cannot even try it Sounds very useful, however there's no search button on my phones (SonyEricsson Xperia Ray, Samsung Galaxy S3).
Great, simple LOVE Textspansion. Recently I got a new phone and thought I was going to have to re-enter all my snippets. I was pleased to see I could export - but WHERE oh WHERE was import. I exported to email, and when I opened the email on my phone and clicked the XML file my phone gave me the option to import into Textspansion. So while it does not appear to be documents, it's fast, simple, and easy. For those with no search button, the access icon will also appear in the drop-menu which should be available from anywhere. I've also tried the ones that use the keyboard with little success. On the phone, this is the best I've found. Kudos.
Doesn't take into account variety of devices My device (Samsung Galaxy S5) not only doesn't have a search button but it also doesn't have a menu button. Without a physical menu button (usually three vertical dots on software that realizes some devices don't have a physical menu button) I can't actually open the menu to turn on the notification bar icon so I can actually use the app. It's great for storage and quick(er) copy/pasting of more complex emotes like a shrug or a table flip but its utility is sorely limited in most cases due to the OS limitations and the fact that the app is, currently, not optimized to take advantage of newer devices not having search or menu buttons. If they'd fix these glaring errors and maybe research global text replacement on Android a bit more then maybe it could become super useful.
VERY quick and efficient How does this app only have 3.6 stars?! PURE text expansion is IMPOSSIBLE with Android (it'd make huge security vulnerabilities), but this app just takes a swipe and two taps to copy a phrase. It's a pretty impressive work around imo. It saves me so much time.
Not a real text expander. This is NOT a real Text Expander. It's a stored clipboard cut and paste utility. A true expander will, as an example, when you type "TY"... expand it automatically to "Thank You."
Be prepared! A huge UI update is in the works!
