Fertilizer is one of the most costly inputs in crop production. It's indiscriminate application not only affects crop productivity and farm income, but also causes harm to soil and environmental quality. Therefore to optimize the fertilizer application and to achieve the higher crop yield and farm income, a crop nutrient manager app has been prepared which makes fertilizer recommendations based on native soil fertility status and nutritional requirements of the crop to be grown. The recommendations are presently made in form of usually used fertilizers commonly available to the farmers, for the major Rabi and Kharif crops grown in eastern region. In this app, farmers, agriculture professionals or the other users are required to put the nutrients availability status of their soil, crops to be grown and fertilizers to be used to get the ready-made fertilizer recommendations. This user friendly app is expected to help the farmers in achieving higher yields and farm income while maintaining the soil quality as well.
