This app was fine for years but in the last week an issue has arisen that makes me want to drop it and look for a competitor. Basically after you've scrolled one feed it used to immediately show you articles in the next category down. But now after reading all articles of a category it now jumps into something called "all personal feeds". There is a term for this. It's called "enshittification". Changing something for no reason. Nobody asked for this. Nobody wants more clicking.

I used feedly for years, but no more - it's becoming awful. The worst of is "AI" which adds distracting "notes" to things that you can't disable - and often they say something entirely misleading or just plain wrong. However, I persevered despite that, until this year (2024), why quit now? Because this year has seen the app have more issues than ever - slow to load, crashes, and now it's not updating and is failing to mark articles as read. Yes, these issues get fixed quickly, but I've had it.

Feedly is perfectly fine as an RSS reader, and I installed it to replace Google Reader many years ago. But I suspect that I'm not the target user any more, as the app gets worse with every update. The new Leo feature is a good example of this, and even on the rare occasion the info it gives is correct, it's still not useful, and there doesn't seem to be any way I can find to get rid of it.
