Reigns: Her Majesty is fantastic! I really didn't know what they could do to top the original, but this sequel is bigger, bolder and more elegant than ever. The systems are streamlined, the characters are funny and the clues are useful without ever being too obvious. If you want to play the a hilarious (and ad free) strategy game look no further than Reigns: Her Majesty!
Fun and charming, with a unique style, like the first. I've encountered a bug where your queen is killed with a low (rather than empty) attribute, but that's the only hiccup I've seen. It's rare that a game coaxes some genuine laughs out of me, too, and there's a layer of srategy that's not immediately obvious until you've played a while.
Love this game a lot. I have it both on steam and my phone. My only complaint is what appears to be an error on the phone version. Randomly, when a category is low or high, but still not empty or full, it will count as empty or full and the monarch is killed. It doesn't happen everytime, but it definitely disrupts gameplay. Hopefully it can be fixed. Otherwise, I love it!
What a masterclass of a game. After playing the original I thought that this would be a retexture with little improvements but I was blown out of the water by the completely new features. This game is one of few to have genuinely made me laugh with fun, sharp, intelligent dialogue, compound with layers of strategy that aren't immediately visible when just swiping left or right.
I freakin love this game. I can't really say anything new about this that hasn't been said before. (But I might as well give my thoughts on it). You manage your reigns by making important life decisions. Like deciding to wear a green dress or a red one in public. (a minor example). But, that can have an impact on the current timeline. As it affects your public image with people. You have to balance the percentage of popularity and power you have with certain groups, such as the public and the church. Aside from the obviousness. I adore the artwork for this game. Simple, but effectively artistic and appealing. The music sounds pretty classy. Sounds appropriate for certain situations of suspense and wonder. Voice overs from characters sounds similar to sims talking, but less annoying and a bit cuter. The dialogue itself can be funny and is not too serious. But, it can have some serious moments and is believable for the setting and mood. In conclusion, having to make important life decisions in order to maintain your current reign, which can lead to a multitude of situations. Some funny, some leading to death. If that all sounds fun or interesting to you, I would highly recommend this game for any who want to manage their own reign for themselves and see what comes from it.
I feel like I only half know what I'm doing all the time in this game. It's hard to follow the story and the mechanics feel either overly simplified, or opaque and confusing. I feel like this idea really has potential, but the simplicity of the game sorta wastes it.
