Like that you can see what insulin dose you last took, and all the setting. Wished there was a little more pressie control over alerts. But very glad to have it. Makes management much much easier. Finally glad they made it for the bigger Android market. Now just hoping for a quick rseolution to the bluetooth connectivity issue, in the Last Verizon update. Not able to connect via Bluetooth anymore, but really looking forward to it being fixed.
I am so happy this app is finally available on Android. I love not having my reciever and the app works great for me. My only issue, and it is a big one, is the alerts. The settings for alerts do not work. I have them set for entry thirty minutes and still get an alert every five. I wish I had the option of vibrate only for an urgent low. I'm a teacher and it is very distracting with my phone going off every five minutes even after I acknowledge it and I have it set to 30 minutes. I don't know how it is expected that I will correct my bg in five minutes! Five star s if this can be fixed .
I've been living with type 1 diabetes for over 10 years. So I have a pretty good idea of when I'm low or high. Dexcom, i dont need you to dictate to me when im low or high. With that being said, these mandated alerts are extremely annoying. If Dexcom would allow the user to control the Alerts 100% of the time ,then this would be a 5 star app for sure.
There are a few things about the app that is more about DEXCOM than the app. I have controlled my diabetes for 47 years, I am in charge of my own destiny, not DEXCOM. Mandated sounds are horrible, repeated sounds when my phone's sound is off are even worse. When I put in a blood sugar for a calibration, that is the reading I want the dexcom to have. Don't average, etc. Just pout in the reading from my blood test, good enough for decades, it's good enough for me. Other than these things that obviously bug me, the phone app is good, no longer have to wear the receiver (which by the way has all of the same defects).
When it works, this thing is great. If you are on the GS5, Android 6.0 doesn't work, you need 6.0.1. Hopefully this app doesn't break again on me in the near future. Only three stars due to the limited operability since its release.
I love that this is finally available on android. I dont love that every couple of weeks i have to uninstall and reinstall in order to fix signal loss that won't correct itself when phone is literally in pocket next to transmitter with no obstructions. If this was fixed my rating would go way up!!
