Bet $100, won, hit my goal by .2 pounds under so it was close... won 53 cents. Not cool. If you're betting big, you should win big. Go to healthy wage. I'm about to lose the one year bet I made with them last year but atleast that bet, I would've won more than double my money had I won. Much more upfront bet.
While the idea behind this product is great, the amount of money they keep is ridiculous. 25% of the pot for bets $1-99, 20% for $100-249 bets. I'm sure it's all outlined in legalese, but it's not easy to find and not clearly available on the app. I find this excessively greedy and opportunistic. The app also doesn't clearly explain what the standings mean in large groups. Is it a % of people achieving their goal? Does the number reflect the percentage achieved toward each group's goal? There's no explanation of this.
Great idea, bothersome bugs. Won't open my list of games. Edit: now I see that if I click on my profile I can find my games. But there is lots of room for improvement regarding links. Click on a notification of a comment and I have to search for it. Likewise links in a blog to a new game. Lots of luck ever finding it!
It is a great app most of the time. Sometimes I'm unable to enter my weight without copy/paste from my calculator. Dietbets are super fun and a great way to stay accountable!
This was such a fun game! Betting my own money really motivated me to keep trying to lose weight, and I did! It also offers a community where you get to share your ups and downs and inspire other people!
Im giving this ONE star rating in hope that someone from waybetter contacts me due to not receiving a response from them in the last 3 weeks from several attempts for help cashing out my winnings. Otherwise.....Loved what Dietbet did for me! I absolutely love the app. It provide encouragement, accountability and the motivation I needed to meet my goal weight. If you thrive on competitiveness, be careful because you can easily become depended on wanting to win and/or gain your weight as soon as you decide to not play anymore. Its important to focus on winning, but more important to focus on changing your lifestyle so that when you are done meeting your goals and stop playing, you dont gain the weight back. Overall, it helped me a lot. However, I decided to take a break from it after 7 or 8 games and Im having a hard time getting my earning (points) I have requested a payout about 4 or 5 times and I do not get a response. I have emailed support and nothing! Thats the only complaint I have. Makes me feel like they want me to give in and play again for their sake. I want my money and Dietbet just won't let me cash out!! So frustrating!
