I have almost every Garmin portable product for aviation and loved everyone. Out of loyalty to Garmin I canned my ForeFlight and got Garmin Pilot. It was slow improving but it is a good product now. When I got rid of ForeFlight I moved to Android in the beginning it was only a few weeks behind IOS but this last few months is driving me back to ForeFlight and Apple and I don't like Apple. If they would just tell us something it would help but they are really hurting their reputation for me. I will give it a 5 rating when Android get obstacles if I have not already moved back to ForeFlight. Finally got obstacles, thanks
I've been using Garmin Pilot for more than 2 years now. Like others I had some issues with it Garmin and their engineering staff worked one-on-one with me to solve all my issues. They would even send me BETA versions to help debug. I am now devoted to Garmin. Never once did I get a redirected tech support person in another country. All were in the US. As for the new Log Book feature, it has only been released for the iOS. I really like Garmin Pilot. I am a CFI and teach students that use both the Android OS as well as the iOS. Thanks Garmin! Keep up the great products and support!
Getting better I read a glowing report about a logbook function being added to this app but try as I might, I can't find it anywhere.
Best option for Android. No other substitution.
Not having the best of luck with Garmin Pilot. Have the trial version on two devices. On each, when selecting the "trip planning' button, the app shuts down and reboots itself. Sent them an email, so far no help. Not certain if paid version would work better or I should keep Flight PRO???
Excellent, but one minor but very important issue needs addressing. Love the app. Very easy learning curve, intuitive to use, updates seem to be happening more often, and always improving. The biggest plus is the new terrain page. That really completed the app for me. However, one issue that REALLY bugs me is that I can NOT switch units to statute miles and MPH from nautical miles and knots. It is really the only downside to this app and I truly would give this app 5 stars if they would fix this issue.
