Same as others have said, no matter where you drive, if you're in a city you're not going to get a good score. Every road I drive on is 'high risk' which means you can only get a maximum of 70 odd. Also driving after dark is 'high risk', it's just a hatchet job really.
I think Direct Line have changed the parameters for this app. I used to get scores in the high 80s and low 90s but lucky now to get over 75. Obviously DL weigh the app in their favour but it is beyond a joke now. Won't be renewing.
Short journey's record as to many stop starts. Penalised for driving in town and braking due to defensive driving because of other morons. Other than that not bad, managing 82 ish.
Keeps blocking and doesn't record journeys. Once it recorded a phantom journey (whilst phone was sitting on the table top!!) With a very low rate which dropped my score considersbly. Have emailed technical support 3 times but they just tell you to reinstall the app. I don't like giving negative ratings but this must be the worst app I've ever installed and 'tried' to use!!
Proud of my son who is driving responsiby and gets all green ratings but direct line penalise him because his college is near previous crashes and the time of day his lectures start. The house is loading the odds in its favour so although it's a great app we won't be renewing either of our 3 cars policies not to mention house and contents. This behaviour is shameful discrimination of the young!
Terrible. I hate this app and the drive plus box. It's absolutely ridiculous that they mark you down for driving on certain roads that are considered 'high risk' or the fact that they mark you down for driving at certain times of the day. Most people use their car to drive to work, most people have work during the rush hour, so they will driving at the peak times and if your work is on a high risk road, well then you can't do anything about that. Also I keep getting marked down a little for 'smooth driving'. It says I break to hard, but the box and app don't take into consideration that some cars are older and have worn brakes that are still perfectly fine, other than you need to press down on them a little more than say a brand new car or something. This is so stupid and Directline really need to rethink their box and what it should be monitoring instead.
