The app is buggy and slow as hell. Constantly buffers even in decent coverage Area. We should be able to watch more channels, especially football games. Why in the hell do I have to be close to my receiver to watch a football game on my phone? If I am close to my receiver I am going to watch on my TV, not my Damm Phone. But, it sure would be nice to watch a football game on my cell phone when I am away from my home. Also, it seems like the app doesn't update the shows when it hits the next half hour or hour. You have manually do it. Thanks, there are some nice things about the app. But can't think of none right now.
When it worked it was awesome, but those days are few and far between. Constantly has issues finding my genie. Hasn't worked properly in months. FIX IT!! UPDATE: It has now worked correctly for 3 months straight. If it makes it til the end of the year I'll bump it up to 5 stars....thank you for fixing it
I travel 460 miles every night and it is constantly optimizing video quality every couple minutes. Netflix works great. There is only 2 or 3 spots in my travel that it will freeze up , but only for 20 or 30 seconds, then it takes off again. Which tells me that direct tv needs to buffer so that it doesn't freeze up.
This app would be great if the flipping servers would work while watching our shows! It's consititely "buffering" and has horrible quality. Plus it isn't compatible with Chromecast, which shows how much work this app needs. Put the money in making better quality AT&T/Direct TV and maybe you'll keep/get more customers.
Two many channels missing. Other cable apps offer more channels then DirectTV does. Take for instance the Outdoor Channel, i pay an extra $5 to get the channel at home, but i can't access it by the app. While my friend who has another cable provider is able to watch it no matter where he's at. Then take a look at sports on the local channels. Once again, my friends with local providers can view thru their apps, while DirectTV app says its blacked out. Its almost easier to have each individual stations app then the DirectTV app. I would not recommend DirectTV to anyone.
If you've got at&t you might as well get direct. It's cheaper than having multiple streaming services to get all the shows you want. You will be smothered with commercials unlike some streaming services that we're ad free for a fee. I would be willing to pay a few bucks more for direct if it meant no ads or at least significantly less. But in the end I'm mostly happy here and get to watch shows while away from home without using my data.
Thanks for using the DIRECTV app! We’re working hard to improve your experience! Here’s what’s new in this update.
