I gave 4 stars because the app constantly freezes and "updating for optomized viewing" several times while watching. I also cant watch DVR stuff away from my home, which is pointless. I DVR stuff to watch, at home. And last.. If you answer a text or fb message while watching, it will stop the app. Sometimes, I would still like to hear what is going on even if im texting. I do like the convienence of the app and it is user friendly.
So I like the app...for the most part. I just switched from DISH Network and what I liked about their app was the capability to watch every channel I was subscribed to and all my DVR programs. With the Direct TV app, only certain live programs are available for viewing and my DVR recordings can only be watched from my tv, which doesn't make any sense. How difficult would it be to allow those options on your app? Please consider these changes for the sake of better customer reviews. And now it won't work at all. As of 4/6/17
This app would be great if I didn't need my phone connected to the same internet as my reciever to watch certain things. Seeing as there isn't any quality internet options where I live, the only purpose this app really serves for me is to set my DVR to record shows when im not at home. We already pay for the directv service this app should be nothing but an extension of that. I shouldnt have to have my phone connrcted to the internet to enjoy the tv I already pay for. Not everyone has access to internet...
Seems everyone has the same issue. We want to access our dvr recordings on the go but can't connect to our in home network. Device not registered or must be connected to the same network as you your TV is all I get even though I've followed all directions to achieve this. For being a multi billion dollar company now you'd think this would be something that shouldn't happen or at the very least FIX IT! This app is only good for watching the channels you say we can watch. We should be able to watch whatever channel we subscribe to. Isn't that what we're paying for?
My DVR is not working even though Directv and at&t are a match made in heaven. I do have my own wifi at home, and connect my Directv receiver, registering my phone on the same network, but I can't watch my DVR anywhere. With at&t, the coverage is awesome, and it doesn't count against my data, so it's a HUGE plus. I was a customer to Time Warner for 16 years, to me change is scary, but I'm not getting what I was getting, before.
This used to work fine, but now this app NEVER loads! No matter how many times I update, uninstall or close the app it always says "Please check your network connection and relaunch threw app" it does this whether I'm on wifi or not. My boyfriend downloaded it on his phone, using the same wifi, logged in with my account, and it worked, so I don't understand what is going on.
