Poor design Really...?!?! how can you promote VR with a so poorly designed game?? The concept is good but the execution is less than mediocre... Still cant believe that putting the car on a starting grid with a countdown before the "race begin" is something that seem impossible for you guys...
Car spawns upside down This game is unplayable. Please fix as I really would like a driving game
Great potential . . . but This program is a great example of the potential that modern smartphones have as a future VR platform. As a head tracking and stereoscopy demo it delivers 100% but nothing more. I'm excited for the future and hope to see more support for this platform.
How not to do VR games BubbleCars is a game from the producers of the Durovis Dive and tops their list of available software. Considering this the wretched game controls are inexcusable. The tasks seems simple: follow a road, steer by head movement and collect stars. But despite dozens of app restarts, I never found a reliable way to even get the car to start on the street. If you move the phone after the Unity logo appears, the car will basically crash immediately. In the rare cases I got onto the road and properly leaned into curves, the bad physics threw me off again after a few seconds. Currently this is primarily a vomit inducing experience, because most of the time you are just tumbling around in a wildly rotating vehicle. – There is a dire lack of software for Dive, Cardboard etc. Many demos/games will fail completely on some devices due to speed, lacking input or other technical reasons. Unfortunate, but at least understandable. BubbleCars fails not due to technical problems, but due to miserable design. There has been some argument that bad first implementations could put users off Virtual Reality before it even starts. This is one of these bad implementations, and Durovis should remove it.
Needs improvement Please stop the car from flipping over whenever it starts
Funny But how to reset to the road? Thank you More VR games please!
