About this app

The best lightweight wav player / audio player for VoIP (Voice over IP) voice-mail files sent to you as email attachments from Magic Jack, Vonage, Asterisk and more.

Plays many types of audio file formats that Android does not support. These can be email attachments or files downloaded to your SD card, like wav voice-mail, music, midi, and many other file formats. To play files from the SD card, install a file manager application (ES File Explorer is an excellent choice)

** NO ADS ** NO INVASIVE PERMISSIONS **

WavPlayer is designed to be a lightweight application. Once another task is started or the application loses focus, WavPlayer will quit and free all system resources.

Subtracting a star for a visual problem on Pixel 6 with Android 13, where most of the screen around the WavPlayer overlay is blacked out. The first time I ran it, I also got a warning saying the app was written for an older version of Android, but I dismissed it with few issues. Minor hiccups: defaults to earpiece only (should be auto) and custom decoder (not necessary for me, wav and amr files). Also, interface is somewhat dated. Should be refreshed and retargeted after seven years!

Useful but has issues. Looking for app to play wav attachments from Outlook. Really like the small window with play controls. Using Samsung Galaxy S10 with Android 10. Problems are: • Need close button to abort playback • Volume button works sometimes to display system control, then doesn't work • Volume defaults to system Media setting, but volume button changes to full volume (way too loud) and changes the system setting (bad) • Would be helpful to show attachment location to delete the file

I received a warning that it was written for an older version of Android, but it worked fine on my Pixel 6 Pro with Android 12. The same thing happened a year ago when I installed it on my Pixel 5. I also used it in my Pixel 3. I've used WavPlayer on 3 phones for more than 4 years and it has always worked reliably.
