I have no explanation why this app is not excellent. I have the hardware and that's great, this however is wobbly and unstable, 20 crashes in 10 days; it lags so you accidentally double tap and that throws it into a flat spin; also it maybe intuitive but only to someone who plays 4 dimensional chess whilst tightrope walking . Shame it shouldn't be this hard surely. App updated to day so I'm crossing my fingers. It'd be useful when it does work which is about 50:50. No alternative :-( The update did nothing. I now use the app that came with the phone, different sound output which I cannot understand as the app is not a conduit. But at least it works more effectively & regularly than the one I effectively bought with the hardware. Very disappointed in a good brand like Denon.
When playing music from phone via DLNA, it disconnects from ceol n9 after a few mins of the phone being not touched. The Music app included with Android can play music via DLNA with no problems. There is no benefit to using the Denon app. It's a big disappointment.
Crashes a lot On nexus 7 2013, latest fw, android 6, netowk =on etc etc, still had 3 crashes while playing 96bit content from usb. Ipad version much more stable
Looks nice, just doesn't work It only seems to play music without stopping when it stays open. Sorry but I cannot dedicate my phone completely to the function of remote control.
This app has potential, but is full of reliability and usability issues. It crashes a lot, is slow and unresponsive at times, and is just not that intuitive. Please improve it Denon!
Appalling Almost never recognises my player (Ceol N9) and when it does it can be relied upon to crash within a few minutes. Given its importance to things such as streaming from NAS and Internet radio it's making me consider returning the whole system. UPDATE: have now returned the system because of the poor app.
*If the App doesn't work properly, please try to reboot your mobile device, unplug the power cord of the main unit and reinsert into the power outlet or check your home network.
*When a firmware update for your Denon product is available, please update the firmware via the system setup menu. (General > Firmware)
*Please set "Network Control" to "ON / Always ON" in your product via the system setup menu to use this app.
