This is the worst app on the planet. Works whenever it wants, if you dont have internet you are stranded. If yoi bave slow internet, you have to wait for several minutes before the door opens. confusing controls.
Keeps signing me out so I get locked out of my office. Regularly doesn't work and is a lot more pointless than a key card.
If you're selling the idea that an app is more convenient than a key card, then you need to make the app experience convenient! There is zero on-boarding, so the first time you log in to the app you're presented with a blank screen because you're not made aware that you need to verify your email address before a list of doors appears. An in-app prompt should mention this. Next your first action is to unintentionally open a door somewhere in the building whilst you tap around trying to figure out how to use the app. The app doesn't at all feel native – it takes forever to load (inconvenient), all the animations are janky and slow, it has a non-native side draw menu that you can't swipe open and then can't close again using the back button. Most annoyingly it highjacks the back button when you try to quit the app by showing a confirmation modal to confirm you wanted to quit. Also I only regularly use two doors, it would be great to have direct access to those 'favourite' doors via a home screen widget, or Android watch shortcut because I don't like waiting 15 seconds for the whole app to open and load every time I need to get through a door.
A pointless app which aims to replace the tried and tested key card with a more convenient 5 step process. Requires an internet access and drains the battery like crazy. Extremely counter intuitive and I have yet to meet anyone that thinks it's a good idea. This was forced on us by our building manager and is a pain. It is no safer than a security card as the number of people wedging doors open in order to not use it has increased dramatically.
Doordeck uses more than 1% battery per hour in the background, and is frequently flagged as a battery-draining app on my phone. What could it be possibly be doing in the background? The whole premise of the app is flawed: it is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist, and it does so badly. The app has no on-boarding, the interface for unlocking doors is clunky, and the whole thing is useless if you do not have an Internet connection. If your office uses Doordeck, prepare for a long wait at the entrance every morning while your phone connects to the wifi.
