- Shed your cards, matching the rank or suit of the revealed card...
- ...if you CANNOT discard a card during your turn, then draw a card from the stockpile.
YOUR GOAL IN CRAZY EIGHTS
Shed your cards as quickly as possible by matching the rank or suit with the top card on the discard pile. The player who sheds all their cards first, WINS.

Crazy Eights is a shedding-type card game. The object of the game is to be the first to get rid of all the player's cards to a discard pile. The game is considered a pre-extension of Switch, Mau Mau and Uno, much favoured in schools during the 1970s.
Also commonly referred to as 8s, the game has 3 basic action cards:
- 8's allow you to change suit, (can be placed on top of any card)
- 2's make the opponent pick up two, or can be stacked
- A's skip the opponents turn
Short summary of the rules:
The object of the game is to get rid of the cards in your hand by playing them on the discard pile,
where either the face or the suit of the card you play must match the face or the suit of the top-most card on the discard pile.
If you cannot play a legal card or if you do not want to play a card you must take a card from the stock pile.
Some action cards have special meaning:
- Any eight can be used to change the current suit (hence the name: Crazy Eights).
- When a two is played the next player must take 2 cards and must skip a turn.
- When a queen is played the next player must skip a turn.
- When an ace is played the direction of play changes.
- When a joker is played the next player must take 5 cards but is allowed to play again.

Crazy Eights overview
Eight cards are dealt to each player. Players discard by matching rank or suit with the top card of the discard pile, starting with the player left of the dealer. If a player is unable to match the rank or suit of the top card of the discard pile and does not have an eight, he draws one card from the stockpile. If he has a card he can play it otherwise the turn passes to the next player. If still doesn't have a card, he passes a turn to a next player. When a player plays an eight, he or she must declare the suit that the next player is to play.
As an example: Once the six of clubs is played the next player can:
- play any of the other sixes
- play any of the clubs
- play any eight (must declare the suit)
- draw from the stockpile
Points are incurred for any cards left on hand at the end of a round - 25pts for an eight, 10pts for a face card, and face value for a spot card. Game over once looser reaches 100 pts, at that point the winner is the one with lowest score.

How Points Are Given:
When one of the player’s hand is empty, then that player gets points according to the ranks of the remaining cards of the other player.
Rank (8) = Points (20)
Rank (1 - 10) = Points (1-10) [Except rank 8 ]
i.e., Rank 1 = Point 1, Rank 2 = Point 2, so on.
Rank (11 - 13) = Points (10) [i.e., Rank 11 = Points 10, Rank 12 = Points 10 and so on]
Note: A= 1, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13

Crazy Eights is a shedding-type card game. The first player that successfully discards all of his or her cards wins the round. The first player to reach 300 points wins the game.
A regular 52-card deck is used and players take turns. Players can successfully discard cards by matching the rank or suit of the last discarded card. If the player has no playable cards, then he or she must draw cards from the middle pile until a playable card is drawn. 8's are considered wild cards and can be played on top of any card. The player that discards an 8 can set the acceptable suit for the next turn.
Crazy Eights is 100% free game. There is no pop-up or full screen ads. There is no stupid in-app purchase as well.

*** Please note that this is a virtual add-on for the *real life* classic card matching game of Crazy Eights and requires a standard deck of 52 playing cards. ***
The first player with no cards left is the winner! Locos Ochos de Navidad (aka Christmas Crazy Eights) takes the classic card matching game of Crazy Eights and adds some Christmas spirit (and a little more craziness) with the inclusion of 20+ unique, special events that alter the standard game.
Most people already know how to play Crazy Eights (or the commercial version -- Uno), so this is a game the whole family can enjoy! If you don’t know how to play Crazy Eights, don’t worry, full instructions are included in the game.
The rules are simple. Be the first player with no cards left. Before you take your turn, simply tap the screen to open a present. Then follow the instructions on screen. All the cards you would expect are there: Draw 2, Reverse Play, etc., but sometimes you’ll have to “Ho Ho Ho” in your best Santa voice, sing a few verses of a Christmas song, or suffer the consequences!
After following the instructions on screen, discard a card in your hand by matching it to the rank or suit of the top card of the discard pile. Or, play a wild card. It’s a game simple enough anyone from 5 to 105 can play.
Want to show off your new gadget at the family Christmas get-together? Grab Grandma, Little Billy, and a deck of playing cards, and start a game of Ochos Locos de Navidad!
