App is good compared to the Linksys one (albeit a bit ugly). My issue is with traffic meter portion of the app (and firmware). I can forgive the misuse of the small b to denote Bytes(please use the correct uppercase). What is more glaring is that the limit is only limited to 6 digits effectively allowing you to input 999GB/month of usage. I couldn't find it but on my Linksys router I was able to select of I wanted g/n/ac for the 5ghz band for compatability. This seems to be automatically selected for me with no option. I'm not getting the connection troubles people are getting (logging in with a local account). Just a few minor kinks to solve and maybe a bit of makeup can be applied to both the firmware and the app - r7000
Loved it at first, everything worked great. With the latest update it's telling me it doesn't support readyshare... Which it has for the past 2 years. I really hope this is just a glitch and not some corporate decision to make more money selling netgear products. I'm really hoping for a fix to this. Please help!
The orbi mesh system is way to expensive for this app to suck as bad as it does. Network map worked for 2 days then poof, it is telling me there's 0 devices on my network when there are over 20. Called technical support and they tell me the app is in development that's why I'm having this issue. Makes absolutely no sense.
This app worked really well when I first installed it but as of recent it has stopped working all together. Even if I'm on the same network as my router it asks me to connect, I can't sign in to do remote access for the same reason apparently and I'm just really disappointed that I have to uninstall this app. It really was helpful a lot of the time.
Yet another stupid thing I have to create an account for. Username is taken, after 16 attempts, I finally have one that was accepted. Password. Stupid. I can't use the password that I use for EVERY SINGLE THING I ALREADY USE because it has to be as many as 256 characters and must contain letters, symbols, capital letters, and numbers. This stupid app has taken me 20 minutes to try to set up. Then once I got things entered without it telling me I need to change something else, it tells me my email is already used. Jesus Chr!st!!! This is insane. I hate setting up crap like this. Just make it work already!
Used to work well, but like many others, I can't login or do anything at all with this version. Even other non Netgear apps will let me login and do what Genie used to do, so this appears to be broken.
1.Reintroduces the WiFi Analytics feature (You must allow the app to access your device’s location in order to use this feature.)
2.Displays the link rate for each device in network map
3.Improves the login flow – Skips the NETGEAR account login by default. The genie app now directly takes you to the dashboard without logging in. You can log in to your NETGEAR account for remote access from the dashboard.
4. Fixes the login issue
5. Fixes the crash issues
6. Fixes the typo issues
