AT&T DriveMode is a free* app that helps you avoid distractions from text message alerts and incoming calls while you are driving. When enabled, incoming alerts are silenced, sending text messages are restricted and incoming calls go directly to voicemail. The app turns on when it detects you are driving 15 MPH or more and turns off when you drop below 15 MPH for 2-3 minutes. Parents with young drivers can receive a text message alerting them if the app is turned off.
Key Features
• Silences incoming alerts
• Automatically replies to SMS and MMS messages
• Turns on when moving 15 MPH
• Alerts parents if the app is turned off
• Access key contacts, music and navigation with one touch
• Customize the home screen with a photo
Remember, when it comes to texting and driving… It Can Wait.
* Data and text messaging charges may apply for download and app usage. Standard messaging rates apply to auto-reply messages. AT&T DriveMode is free to AT&T customers only. Compatible device required.

Safe mode was better When i drive in the safe mode as it is gone now. I used to get text messages thru my bluetooth and the phone would retrieve them and read to me and i could respond.

Can't close it! I opened the app to set it up to use and now it keeps popping up to tell me the accuracy is low and to turn on location setting. I'm sitting on my sofa trying to make it stop! I'd love to use it, but not if I can't get it to stop.

Absolutely Dangerous This app is far more than a horrible nuisance: it's absolutely dangerous! Three times today it came up unexpectedly, blocking access to Google Maps after I had programmed the route before leaving for the destination -- twice when I was on unfamiliar roads in a large city! It did not respond to its own On/Off button, it ignored my pressing the map icon on its UI, and it overrode the hardware buttons to exit and close the app. This behavior of the app has absolutely nothing to do with preventing texting.

Hate it!! Pops up all the time when I'm not even in the car . Very inconvenient. I would love to uninstall it, but it won't let me. Ugh! Great in the car, but has too many bugs. I can just be walking and it pops up. Let me delete this stupid app!! Would definitely give negative stars if I could. Its frustrating enough that I want to leave A

I LOVE IT I can't see why people have a hard time with it. Works fine for me. I turn it on when I get in the car, put on my music and works fine until I turn it off when I get to my destination. Perhaps it's because I NEVER have been one to talk on the phone and drive. So this is perfect for me. I don't have the GPS on. Nor do I have the automatic turn on set. Nor do I have 'whitelisted' numbers. They can all wait. Just disable it if you hate it.

Where's the common sense I gave a rating because I think the idea and how the app works is great but, really! I mean you can do the same thing by turning off or exercising a bit of control by not using your phone when you drive. People with a shred of intelligence know this but if this works for you than good. Whatever keeps you and others around you safe.

Good for What It Does, But Sooo! Annoying 1) It's a high battery user. 2) It needs an easy way to indicate that one is a passenger in a vehicle or mass transit. It has popped open everjy time my train has slowed or stopped for the last half hour. This with it turned off in Auto-on mode, so that apparently doesn't work. 3) I expect better design from ATT. 4) it only allows selecting one media mode --- on the move sometimes I want Pandora and other times I want NPR. Selecting services (especially ones I pay for) should be my option
Freezes, doesn't work This app used to be good. Gradually it stopped working for me. It wouldn't automatically send messages, and then it wouldn't even sense that I was driving! Several times now when I've used the maps app during nighttime my phone would completely freeze if drive mode turned on. The only way to fix that issue it to restart my phone by removing the battery.
Sounds good in theory... I already do not text while driving. I really liked the feature that sends an auto text response, but I commute to/from work by bus and the auto on feature is too annoying when on the bus. App would benefit from a simple "passenger" button to indicate not driving when auto-on triggers.
Still Needs Improvement The app overrides your soft keys so you can't click the back or recent apps buttons to exit drivemode. It needs more improvement because the set up instructions don't really explain everything that this app does. For instance, you can set a default music player and navigation app to use while in drivemode. The main issue I face is after I exit drivemode. I have a Galaxy s6 edge, the app defaults my soft keys to always off and no vibration feedback. So, every time I exit the app, I have to turn this back on.
