Alerts are always behind if I get any at all. I am always having to refresh app in order for it to show recent alerts. Sound is crackley.please fix mini motions. They are blank unless you click on them. It is the same way on the new nest app .
Major bugs with alerts. Can't remember if you've come and gone so you have to manually set them every time you leave. Tried everything, appears to be a lot of bugs related to alerts.
Used to be good But very unstable now. Half the time the camera isn't connected. My wifi is strong. My Belkin Net cams always get a strong signal even being much further away from modem.
Google/Nest FIX YOUR PRODUCTS Dropcam worked fine before Nest (aka Google) acquisition. Now app is crap with network timeouts, failed logins, and what seems to be a no longer supported app (Dropcam) followed by a forced migration to another app (Nest) with limited functionality and which requires me to enter serial numbers of products already defined in my account and PAID subscription! Come on Google/Nest, you MUST FIX THIS!
We have the dropcam 720p version of the camera that we use as a baby monitor. I like the idea of the system and it's mostly reliable, but this app has some problems. When you get some types of notifications or a phone call, the audio stream is broken going back to the app. The only way to reconnect it is to go back to the camera select screen and reselect the camera. In fact that's the theme with this app. If it stops working for any reason, you have to back out of the stream and reselect the camera. So it's not great if you are having transient problems with the internet or whatever. You may wake up and find the app just spinning. Not monitoring the kid. Strangely, the Nest app does a good job reconnecting to the stream if it loses it, but it usually decides to back out of the camera view on it's own (regardless whether it's plugged in) and then the phone goes to sleep. This makes it totally useless. I'm going to go give that app a 1-star review now. This all makes Dropcam/Nestcam very hard to recommend, especially for $200.
Nest app sucks I'm fine with this app and stability has been great recently as a baby monitor. The nest app however sucks. We are told it's a superior experience but it loses connection and just gives up without retrying. Nest really needs to fix their app.
