Most Parkland Formula calculators provide a 24 or 8 hour fluid resuscitation rate. But when transferring a patient to the nearest burn center, what medics really need is a quick way to calculate drops per minute. This is exactly what our Parkland Formula calculator does.
Enter the patient's estimated percent BSA and weight (pounds or kilos), and hit calculate. It's that simple!
A quick reference to the Rule of 9's is provided for your convenience.
The most important overviews-fast and compact :

A sound knowledge of the structure and function of the human body in all of its intricacies is the foundation of medical education. The Focus ANIMATED ESSENTIAL ATLAS OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY is one such tool that provides enormous ways to learn, review and teach the human anatomical systems and their physiology.
As a learning tool it is the first of its kind to provide in depth details about the systems covered through 3D animation of OVER 200 MINUTES. The systems are elucidated through very graphic, life-like animations. Such a learning tool has never been attempted before and is ideal for e-learning.
In this Animated Atlas the anatomy and physiology is organized according to the biological systems of the human body.
The Atlas deals with the biology of ALL essential body systems and helps any student of medicine to cope with their peers.
The Focus Animated Essential Atlas of Anatomy and Physiology includes a full chapter on:
-Cell – the Building block of Life
-Digestive & Excretory Systems
-The powerful 3D animations accompanied by narration impacts the viewer instantaneously.
-Each system is dealt as a chapter which provides all the details required for understanding how that system functions.
-The Atlas is user-friendly and allows for easy navigation to any section anytime.
-An excellent and MUST REFERENCE material for understanding human anatomy and physiology.
-It helps to better understand and communicate in-depth information about the human anatomical system
Learning about human systems, their anatomical positions and functions was never so easy!
Awesome! Makes science easy for dummies!!!! I'd recommend this app for any student.
Good depth of biology. Excellent App!
This app, although expensive at £17 for all the videos in one go is excellent! Being involved in A&P for over 12 years as a Paramedic, I found these videos an excellent refresher and a good springboard into getting back into my studies where I can take it much deeper in something like Principles of Anatomy & Physiology by Tortora. The videos are Very clear and the explanations are fast flowing but very accurate! Watching it a second time, like with anything, you pick up a lot more! Definitely glad I bought the app, can watch it again in the future and also have it to teach my kids when they're older! Worth the money!!!

The medical care of trauma patients demands fast thinking and accurate, up-to-date resources. And there is no more reliable resource for trauma information than the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This app was developed alongside their seminal course, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). ATLS has trained more than 1.5 million participants in more than 75,000 courses around the world.
ATLS provides the essential information and skills for doctors, nurses, and other health professionals to identify and treat life-threatening injuries under the extreme pressures of the trauma environment. The international nature of the program means that the content is adaptable to a variety of geographic, economic, social, and medical practice situations.
Whether in a hospital trauma bay, on the highway at a motor vehicle crash, in a disaster area after a bombing, or in a foreign country’s war zone, clinicians need ready access to critical resources and references. The content and skills presented in this app will add to the armamentarium of doctors and other clinicians who treat trauma patients.
The app includes a free preview of the 1st chapter.
Additional content can be purchased to instantly gain full access to the following:
•Interactive visuals, such as treatment algorithms and x-ray identification
•Just in Time video segments capturing key skills in minutes
•Calculators, such as pediatric burn calculator and the Parkland Formula to determine fluid administration
•Animations, such as airway management and surgical cricothyroidotomy
For those who have purchased the 9th edition of the ATLS Student Course Manual, simply enter the book code that was packaged in the book to gain free access to all the content.
Essential tools in General Practice, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, Obstetrics, Nephrology, Hematology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Respirology, and more.

Add a drug amount in mg, mcg, grams or units to a volume of fluid, select the dose ordered, and voila! The ml/hour necessary to deliver that dose is displayed. All parameters MUST be verified prior to infusion! However, if you accidentally enter an incorrect parameter, you may back-screen to correct it without having to re-enter each piece of data.
This program will NOT save preferences.
Also, drug manufacturers and distributors sometimes change their concentrations, therefore this program will NOT let you simply enter "Amiodarone" and perform all the calculations for you.
This is BetterWare (for lack of a better term) - if you think of any way to make it better, please share it with me so I can share it back with everyone.
This program is intended to provide a quick reference to the drugs and dosages required to perform a Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI). It does NOT take the place of formal classes which teach this skill - you won't learn RSI from scratch by using this app.
This app is designed to be stepped through rapidly - patient class (Adult, Pediatric, or Geriatric); patient weight in pounds or kgs, or Broselow tape if pediatric; finally, patient health considerations - does this patient have an intracranial bleed? Is this patient hypotensive?
Should hyperkalemia be suspected? - finally, here are your drugs and dosages.
Any preassessment should be performed prior to attempting an intubation (LEMONS, BONES, Mallampati scoring, etc.)
Tap Menu -> Help for further information, and remember always to stick to your protocols.
This is Betterware; if you can think of any way to make it better, please drop me a suggestion at DTsEMT@gmail.com, and Thanks!
Tap the upper portion of the screen each time a drop falls into the chamber. Don't need many - after three or five drops, tap the drip set (10, 15, 20, or 60gtts/ml) and your drip rate is displayed.
This also works for heartbeats and is useful for neonate heart rates, or to count breathing.
Absolutely free, and ad-free.
This app is for the budding EMT-B. It places you in the position of the Rampart docs. Your EMT-B is calling from the scene and asking for instruction.
Your EMT can be ordered to:
Confirm scene safety;
Assess the patient (area-by-area);
Take vital signs (BP, pulse, etc.);
Check blood sugar;
insert OPAs or NPAs as needed;
Use an AED;
Ventilate with BVM;
Immobilize extremities (splint) or patient (backboard);
Assist the patient with Nitro, Epi-pen, or MDI;
Administer oral glucose;
Administer activated charcoal;
Transport the patient
This app works best with a natural text-to-speech voice such as IVONA or SVOX. It can be run through speakerphone or in a privacy mode. It includes an in-app scenario editor to modify existing scenarios or add new scenarios. At the end of the scenario an optional Debrief Mode provides feedback on how well you handled the scene and patient. Full help available in the menu. Keywords: Students, BLS, Practice, Training, EMT, EMT-B
Here's a simple little program that allows you to specify oxygen cylinder size, tank pressure, and flow rate to calculate how long the tank will last. There's a "set alarm" button which allows you to exit the application and do other things, then receive a reminder.
Quick Pick option for nasal cannula, face mask, and non-rebreather, or override with your own LPM specification. Also allows you to enter vent settings including tidal volume and FiO2%.
Full explanation, including formulas and limitations, in the program help (Menu -> Help).
Completely free, and ad-free.
This program acts only as a space-saver. If you wish, you may remove all DTsEMT shortcuts and replace them with a shortcut to this menu.
When the app is launched it scans your device, finds any DTsEMT apps, and loads this menu. That's it.
Obviously, if you have only one DTsEMT app, you will save no space by installing this one.
This app will NOT check the Play store to find other DTsEMT titles, but any new titles you download will automatically appear in this menu the next time it is launched.
