I once learned German years ago and son after I forgot it all, but now with this app I have picked it up again. It's very intuitive and it progressed through from very basic words gradually adding more words and tenses. It really is a great app for anyone wanting to casually learn another language. The app doesn't teach you the principles behind the words, only the words. Recommended!!
Learning Japanese, and it's a great way to get started by making sure you're practicing everyday. After finishing the introductory lessons, it feels like an app designed to reinforce learning rather than teach though. Grammar and vocabulary are thrown at you without introduction, and tips for vocabulary don't always see both hiragana and kanji so it feels like a very scattered approach.
Lost all my progress when i got a new phone and it keeps starting me at the begining.. I had most if spanish completed.. Very disappointed and dont recommend unless you want to do the same lesson over and over again.. Sent complanr with no response to fixing this issue..
Wonderful app. Four stars because, although the desktop version of the website actually has detailed explanations of the grammar, conjugations, etc., in the lessons, the mobile app doesn't offer those explanations. So mobile users are missing out, unless they specifically use their browsers to load the desktop version of the website, just to view those explanations.
I really enjoy this app and learning languages with it. I find it at times kind of repetitive though and maybe it's not exactly sentences that you would use in a normal situation... Also, I think it would be good to include grammar rules into the learning process. It's not always obvious why something is the way it is. And I'm a native russian and checked out the russian lessons to refresh my vocabulary. There were sentences where I'd use a different word with the exact same meaning or make the sentence a little bit different but it would still mean the same. However, it didn't take it while I knew it was right. It's a little devastating.
It works, I still use it, but not a fan of the update where whenever you meet your goal you get bonuses and open chests. I just don't think it suits this app, and it ends up just being a wave of random gifts that are just plain bothersome when you are trying to learn your lessons. I also wish that there was more speaking, because what's happening currently is I'm learning matching more than the actual language (And if the voice is out of question, I'd appreciate a section on learning the 'alphabet' of countries that don't use ABC's) Liked the older version better :/
