I absolutely love this app. I took Spanish in high school and ended up failing because I couldn't understand it even though I tried. This app is more useful then my high school class. I am able 2 learn quicker and a lot more in a short amount of time. The app is very user-friendly and it's almost like a game. When I'm sitting at home with my girls, mom pulls out the " language game" and they get 2 learn with me and have just as much fun as I do.
I like Duolingo, it's a fun way to learn languages, even though I have the feeling that it didn't get many innovations recently but their monetary policy is way too steep for what the app offers right now. Keep improving guys then maybe people would be willing to pay. But as the app is right now a monthly price of more than 1-2 Euros is not justified.
This is the greatest free app to learn languages in my opinion. I've been using it since 2015 for both difficult (Hebrew, Japanese etc) and easy languages (Spanish, French, Esperanto etc), and I highly recommend it for both types of languages, even though it's possible one needs additional help from websites and buddies to reach higher fluency. It does have some flaws, but it is overall a solid way to get the basics and a little bit more of a language.
I have enjoyed this app immensely. It is good for beginners but gets very challenging as you progress. The ability to hear it spoken part of the time while seeong the language written is bery helpful. My only wish is that there were some instructions. You can figure it out as you go but sometimes it would be good and help avoid confusiin. I would also like to see the translation in the errors as well as with the ones I get correct, to help me understand the sentence structure. You can't do better for free. I was sad to reach the end of the tree. I still review what I have learned but would live an advanced version. Happy Duo now has Japanese so I will do that next.
One thing, I'm learning Japanese and sometimes the voice in listening part is quite fast. Hope you put a slow option for that. Other than that, I love this! Really helps you learn another language in a fun and interactive way. What I really like and ammend is the comments section, it helps users like me to clarify stuff whenever there's a confusion. I think it's also a great way to interact with the other users esp the native speakers of the course!
This app is very similar but also better than rosetta stone's version of language learning process. It's honestly very simple to use. One complaint though is I wish the app have a whole section of what verb endings go with which noun.( atleast for french, haven't tried others YET!) 5 stars still though. GREAT APP 💘

Small usability fix: if you're learning several languages, your courses are now ordered by XP. Yay, order!
We're also testing a new design for our Achievement badges. Hope you dig them!
