Great app for language learning, also MOST IMPORTANTLY its encouraging. This is what I feel makes it so successful, because even when you make small spelling or accent errors it encourages you to try again, and thats what learning is all about! It also allows you to test your knowledge of the language frequently, AND the lingots you earn help you learn new phrases. The app challenges you with wagers to up your lingots and shows you your progress by restructuring your sentences. Its a great feeling when you start to understand it, no matter how its worded. C'est Incroyable!
An effective way to revise or even learn a language. Not quite as good as the full online version for me because I am learning French and need a way to enter accents. My phone's keyboard doesn't let me so that easily. Editing this to remove one star. The free version of the app does not have free exercises available every day. For anyone who likes to maintain a streak the only way is to pay. Luckily I never fell for the streak idea. But the lack of daily exercises means I am starting to fall out of the habit of using this app.
Really good app, easy to follow and short lessons so you won't get overwhelmed. Easy to keep up with and the adds never interfere with your learning. I only have 2 problems and they aren't that big of a deal, 1 you can't win wagers unless you buy the add free version, 2 the sentences can be bizarre. Not often but I don't know why I need to know how to say the woman is in the fridge, maybe it's trying to say she's getting something from the fridge? IDK anyways love the app
easy to use and learn from. i think it's good for any age as long as you can read. i also like the fact that you can test out of each part if you feel like you know it already. i gave it 4 stars because there's always room for improvement and because i got an answer wrong in hebrew but they gave me the same answer when i had to type the phrase in hebrew. happened only once so far though.
I never have taken French before. I feel really satisfied with how much I learned in a short time. I am a visual learner so memorizing vocabulary comes easy, the proper pronouncing is a challenge. The app has a few challenges of recording you speaking the new language and tells you if it's a hit or miss. Practice practice. You can only get better with practice.
If you are looking to learn a language and are willing to put in the time this is a great place to start. On the go all the time? No big deal Duolingo will help keep you on track to achieve your goal. The only downside I have seen so far with the app is that it is a little easier then the website but if you are willing to dedicate 10-15 minutes a day you will be fluent in no time. Just because you finish the skill tree doesn't mean you are down learning a language is a lifetime journey. Little work everyday and you'll never lose it keep up the good work
