I love the idea of this app but the user interface is annoying to manage and the app itself is SO SLOW. It's not even my phone, the rest of my apps will be working super fast and this one will still be having trouble. The biggest thing that annoys me about this is that the picture on the flashcard will show up blank and I'll have to wait forever for it to load so that I can actually match an image with the corresponding description. I really wish this worked better, because I would love to use it.
The app itself works good enough, but the content is totally unregulated. For example, as a native Finnish speaker I can say that it seems most Finnish courses are either mostly wrong, or complete horse manure. That makes me wonder if all other courses are the same.
It works for what it does. My complaint is that sometimes I get an answer wrong because in my native language (English), "you" is singular and plural. When I have to translate, I don't know whether they want singular or plural. The card should be altered to indicate this.
Great idea but the Swedish version at least is completely blind to synonyms, with the result that there appears to be only one correct translation for any word. Please note, too, whoever is responsible for maintaining this, that 'en' and 'ett' mean both 'one' and 'a(n)', and without more in the way of context it's not possible to declare one out of a choice of, for example, 'a century' and 'one century' as correct when in fact they both are.
I love it because it seems more in tune with what words you are struggling with and then repeats them several times at the end of the pack to make sure you're completely comfortable before moving on. This is something I think could be improved in duolinguo and i really like this feature in the tiny cards.
This app would be so perfect if it could be saved onto the SD storage instead of device storage. It doesn't take up too much space to begin with so, I honestly don't know why I'm complaining!
