Was looking for a replacement for Living Cookbook since that is no longer being supported.Had high hopes for this but have been a bit disappointing so far. Bought it all; pc, subscription, app. I find all of the user interfaces clunky. It's not easy to move around/edit. Syncing is glitchy. I can't use an apostrophe for title on pc, but can on mobile app? App shuts down while using recipes. The one thing I do like is the importing of recipes from a website. Not sure I will continue to use it.

Please contact support@mastercook.com. We can help you with the issues you are having including syncing and the app shutting down. Those are easy to resolve. We are working on creating a brand new interface for the mobile apps. We hope to have it released by March.

Some features are great for importing online recipes but I am still on the lookout for a better program. The shopping list sucks. It doesn't combine items or organize by shopping section so I may have something on my list that is repetitive, garlic for example, is listed 4 times in my list and I have to check it off 4 times and each time it wants me to accept and then returns to the top of the list so I have to scroll down again to check all off. Ridiculous rookie programming mistakes.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently the mobile apps just have basic features. Currently the Windows product is the only one that is able to combine shopping list items that have the same name. There are many features found only in the Windows product that we will eventually add to the mobile & web apps. We add features based on user feedback.

This app works best together with the MasterCook desktop app. It's much easier to add recipes, related pictures, etc. in the desktop app versus on the phone. I only add and edit on the desktop, and I use the phone app to display a recipe while cooking. I like the functionalities of the desktop app that other apps don’t have, for example, the link to the 300000+ USDA food items database. Additional items not found in the USDA DB can be added together with nutritional information.
