Camera was inexpensive and was set up within a minute of opening the package - that part is great. Image quality is good, not great but good to very good. App crashes constantly. What is the point in ease of setup and even with HD quality video if the app crashes every ten minutes, which is what it does. Though it was only 20 bucks at Ross, it's not worth a dime if it does not work. My phone software is up to date and the device firmware was updated - still crashes every ten minutes and often need a reboot to get back in. I'll pay the extra 50 bucks for a quality product.
App is very often crashing, if you come out of the app and go back in to it it crashes and requires a restart. This makes me strongly question the reliability of the cameras motion sense ability in notifying me and recording. Could have the best camera in the world but it is no use if the app is like this. Also it does not function/connect to the camera on 4G.
App is basic but functional. Would like support for my Acer Iconia One 7 tablets and a more sophisticated player for video clips on memory card (next/previous video selection would be very useful, instead of having to return to the video list each time). The video list defaults to previous 12 hours, with other options available (including custom), BUT any selection always reverts back to previous 12 hours when display is refreshed. Let's have a choice of default setting which remains in force! Previous 1 hour would be my choice. Other issues are with motion detection alerts. Two types appear to exist, with least helpful one occurring most often (or maybe helpful one appears first, quickly followed by less helpful one). Helpful = user-supplied cam name shown, with timestamp; less helpful = manufacturer's identity code shown and no timestamp. Motion events do not always occurr when expected, but I guess this is a camera issue.
Bought the camera at Ross for $30. Works perfectly. It was easy to set up first try. I plugged in ethernet and power , downloaded app on phone and synced them up. Easy peezy.
Pretty simple and straightforward. I would love to see a feature to easily disable the camera, as I use the motion detection feature most. Other than that the camera is clear it works fine.
Well it's missing a key component in there software. Nothing to play the videos with. Then it suggest to download some software that doesn't work either for playing the videos.
