Just ok.. even after new update. Geofence is great. but..still Doesn't update correctly, especially what equipment is running. Doesn't read the HRV settings correctly, shows different settings than actual ecobee3 shows. HRV timer doesn't reset to off after. No widget! Be nice to see temp and system status as transparent widget next to my clock and weather and battery widgets.. etc. Can't access all settings. Other than changing temp etc that Almost all.the app is good for. It works no doubt, but needs some tweaking and features. And really, the iOS and Android version should be identical in those respects. Even the windows app and 3rd party apps outshine u in many ways.
Love my thermostat. Wish it would be compatible with Google Home tho. Kinda feel people making the switch to a Nest, come on guys. Could have a shortcut to sensors or see sensors temp from the main screen... Feel like the last UI/UX was a stepback. Also, I know their infamous but widgets to quick settings or monitor could be great. Thank you for fixing the custom ROM issues!
Having an ecobee as my first smart appliance, hard to measure against other apps. Considering app has to contact the ecobee servers to change thermostat settings, it's fairly responsive. Good selection of thermostat options to choose from. One nitpick is the back button acts more like an "undo" function, taking you back thru every screen you previously viewed. Ideally, it would take you one menu level up instead.
With a new Samsung Galaxy S8, the summary screen isn't getting updated. We have 2 thermostats- and the summary screen shows downstairs is on (blue snowflake) when it's not. Clicking on the thermostat shows nothing is running. Have unistalled/reinstalled no help. Same setup with iOS doesn't have the problem- so looks like the S8 android won't update the summary screen. Update: the release for May 10th is so good. Navigation is a breeze now and the native geofence is solid. Just started using this today, April 3rd. Already totally confused by the back butt operation inside the deeper parts of the menu. It acts like it is stuck in some bad if then loop nd never takes you out of the menu. Have to end up using the oddly placed back carrot to get out. More to come.
I still have an issue with the scheduling - it's rather complicated and inflexible. Separately, now, with an update to the app, I now have to select my thermostat before I can make any changes. E Before I didn't have to. Don't a vast majority of homes have only 1 thermostat in their house? Maybe make it an option in the settings to be able to choose a thermostat or have a default one. Having to choose my 1 thermostat - adding an additional click for no reason - is annoying.
