Ratings and reviews

The Ecobee thermostat itself seems to be a good well-designed piece of hardware with intuitive controls. But the app is a mess, with most useful settings hidden beneath too many arbitrary and unlabeled menus. Honestly, I probably wouldn't purchase again just because of the constantly annoying interface and ads. I just want my thermostat to work, with a fine degree of control of my HVAC, and don't want to have to wade through marketing gimmicks and confusing menus to get there.

App used to be great. Ever since the last major user interface update things are a lot more complicated to do and require additional clicks. The previous interface, although not perfect, was really well designed. This feel more step back. Simple things like if you have two thermostat the main page showed everything you needed to you without having to scroll. Not you have too. Thing just take more space than needed.

This is a great system/app, regardless of a few pitfalls. Yes, the old menu was better, and the new android update seems to have cut the lower portion of the screen off..it's just black now, but full functionality still exists. Ecobee's tech support is really top notch, so any problems can usually be straightened out with a phone call. A rare occurrence these days. This is one of my few home apps that never loses connectivity, unlike my actual "Home" app.
