The journalistic content and variety are good. However, the app is extremely klunky. It takes ages to load and start. The audio playback does not restart at the position last completed and periodically stops spontaneously, which can be really annoying. In addition, it is impossible to scroll down the list of audio articles in the queue so it is effectively impossible to edit the queue.

It is very heavy on my phone, when the app is running all other apps are very slow. Also the queuing system is not intuitive often the queue list freezes when editing. I preferred versions from a few years ago. Also it takes a long time between articles audio playing. I always have to turn on the screen to go to the next article in the queue, quite annoying

I have loved the Economist writing for years. The app, always meh, has gotten horrible. If I switch to another app mid article, it returns me to the top of the article rather than where I left off. Worse: the new auto download of the audio version makes the app practically unusable. I used to savor each issue. Now I can't even read them.
