Edyn is a smart garden system that monitors and tracks environmental conditions, helping you make your plants thrive. Inserted in the soil, the Edyn Garden Sensor gathers and analyzes data about changing weather and soil conditions. The Edyn App displays this data as a real-time snapshot of your garden, and pushes alerts and suggestions to maximize plant health.

The sensor readings are pretty good. The only problem I have is the lack of plant selection, so far none of my plants are in the database, so guess which one is close to its requirements. Would also be nice to be able to search by light/nutrition/water not just the plant name.

i live in UAE sunny, dry and almost no rain over the year i needed a solution for my new garden to controls watering where i don't have power. this is a perfect solution, yet i still don't know how to change the temperature to Celsius but this is a minor issue. 5 starts

I don't understand why you guys don't just build in the Celsius/F convertion choice in the app, which is a simple convertion which all the device nowadays can handle for sure. With all the complains about it and you still rely on if you can get the location info or not?!

Ok I like the sensor. I believe it works well in an indoor grow environment. What is frustrating and I cannot get an answer from Edyn about, is the android app. I have two seedlings that are growing nicely but I cannot change the 'sprouting soon' in the app. I have asked for advice but so far received none. Really want to see live data as well if possible. Update. I love this and the Edyn project. The sensor is accurate for me. I grow mainly pots and this is a great help. Just need to expand and improve the app. Give users more access to data etc. Live monitoring would be great. Ability to refresh etc. But overall it's all good for the geeky gardener.

Hi there, this is not correct. The Android app most certainly does offer Celsius. Can you please email support@edyn.com and we will assist you immediately? We cannot contact you directly. Hey there, sorry about that! Looks like we responded to your support request 6 hours after your made it. The sprouting soon bug will be eliminated in the next app update. The Edyn app actually shows both historical and live data by tapping on the quandrants on the main dashboard screen. You seem to have a pretty solid base now you need to fix some long term annoyances : A menu to edit set up configuration items and small variety of plants in the database. Also apparently a 30 year old orange tree is sprouting soon? Also it would be nice to have landscape view available for my tablet. I would not recommend anyone buy this device
Edyn February 1, 2017
Hi Ashley,
We've actually changed how we report plant milestones on iOS and will be migrating that change to Android with the next update, so that will eliminate the 'sprouting soon' bug some users notice on older fruit trees. We may offer a dedicated tablet app in the future, but the vast majority of our users are on smartphones currently. After almost 18 months is is still not possible to rename a sensor (in the UK). My experience has been that pairing a sensor is a frustrating process - after 5-10 similar attempts it will randomly work. As a result of these issues the issues I've faced with the product and app I now longer use it.

Hi Martin,
Sorry you're so upset. I'm not seeing where anyone mentions icons that do not exist. Can you please clarify? The app should not consume battery when not in use. If you're concerned, you can always close the and relaunch the app. Names should likewise not be mixed up. Would you please update your review? [edit]: Celsius is now available!! Like units for the rest of the world, better graphing and exporting... The issues with the graphing is that often the difference in the values are not distinguishable in the graph, so a change in the axis values would be helpful. Also there is a lot of real estate on my phone that could be used for greater vertical dimensions.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Perry, celcius units are available in the app. Would you please update your review? How can we make graphing 'better?' 0.0.70 No Sensor Re-naming Just updated and still missing a pretty basic and fundamental feature. C'mon guys! In response to the developer: There is no pencil icon. What are you talking about? Could you show a screenshot?
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi 'Suck It'
You actually can rename your sensor by tapping the pencil icon next to the sensor name on its status screen. Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi there, celsius is available and the app does display the last measurement. Would you please update your review? Needs substantive improvement Devices work as advertised but the app has not matured fast enough. Reminders, notifications and plant intelligence should have been "out the door" capability.
Edyn February 1, 2017
Hi Tom, these features are all available in the current version of the Android app. Would you please consider updating this review? Getting better Features improve, still wish garden plants had more options, like planting starter plant vs seeds. Also, for the water valve, there should be a mode to turn it on or off without messing with the schedule
Frustrating Finally, Celsius comes with the latest update. Too bad I still see Fahrenheit and no way to change it :(
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Jason,
You can access Celsius. Please reach out to support@edyn.com or check our our FAQ for additional support. Still not ready for prime time The latest update cleared all the existing measurements. The sensor is not accurate, it says the ground is dry after it has been raining for three days straight. The temperature reading is not even accurate.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi there, what do you mean the latest update 'cleared all the existing measurements?' Guess I'll return this back to the store. I water my plants everyday and the sensor read 3% of water. I believe this sensor is faulty
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi there, if you're having issues with your sensor please email support@edyn.com Alot of issues says alot of contradictory alerts As long as they keep updating ill keep showing people the product
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Matthew, what exactly do you mean 'contradictory alerts?' Missing features New update (0.0.58) fails to load sensor data.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Demetri,
The app update does not fail to load sensor data, but if you have a sensor that is not online then there will be no data to present. Please feel free to email support and we can assist you. Works fine No problem with connection process once I followed the instructions and turned up my screen brightness. ...nice feeling product, feels robust, only criticism of the app is "why can't I display the temperature in Celsius?"
Cannot Complete BlinkUp Process I cannot get past the step where I enter a WiFi password. No matter what I enter into the password box I get a dialog telling me to enter a password. Poor form.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Michael,
If you don't have a wifi password you can just leave that field blank. We do strongly recommend you secure your wifi network with a password for security purposes. The app used to work Even though the GUI was OK on Android it worked. Can't say the latest one works fully now. I can access the app but every time I want to add a sensor it crashes. So now I can't add the sensor I have...hopefully things get fixed.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi there, the app works across all Android devices. Can you please update your review? Out of control data usage In a single month, the app consumed 350 MB of *background* days. That's more than any other app including my browser!
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi there, if you're concerned about background usage on Android we recommend closing and relaunching the app. Ok But Still Needs these additions When adding a plant you need to allow a start date in the past to catch up with existing plants already growing. Seeds and sprouting soon is inadequate.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi J,
You can add a plant date in the past very easily when you set up your garden. Please contact support if you need assistance. Would you please update your review accordingly? Latest version has substantial stability improvements along with added features including multi-sensor support and plant tracking.
Edyn October 20, 2015
Hi Matthew,
We're glad to hear you're enjoying your Edyn garden sensor and appreciate your feedback!
Thank you,
Edyn Team Almost? No. Nice try Had to uninstall and reinstall to get the plant database working. No way to remove plants once you add them. And now it goes from 19% moisture to 0% and back again. But the graph never moves from 0.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Jonathan,
The plant database works on all Android devices. You can easily remove plants by swiping left on the icon and tapping 'delete.' Would you please update your review accordingly? Needs More Functionality Updates have come to provide more functionality. However, I can not add or search plants in the app. I can enter "tomatoes", but nothing populates and there is no search/go button available. Just a text box that does nothing but let you type.
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Christopher,
You can search for any plant by entering the name of the plant in the search box. Would you please update your review? Needs work It crashes alot doesnt update and the plant database sucks, plant database isnt working. Ive redownloaded twice already
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Tim,
The app does not crash on the Galaxy Note with updated software. The plant database likewise works. Would you please update your review? Slowly getting better Still working out the kinks and adding functions. Looks like it's headed in the right direction though.

Hi Conor,
We appreciate your feedback. Thanks! Had to reinstall I had to uninstall and reinstall app to get plant database working. A bit annoying but its working now.

Hi Roberto,
We appreciate your feedback, and please contact us at support@edyn.com if you have any concerns or questions.
Thank you,
Edyn Team So far a joy. No crashes, setup just worked. Couldn't find regular broccoli in the database though :)
Edyn August 7, 2015
Hi Christian,
We appreciate your feedback. We're working to expand the plant database, and you'll see more plants soon. Thanks! Edyn August 17, 2015

Hi Teri,
We appreciate your feedback. Thanks! Teething issues Steady readings to the device but it just crashes she trying to add a plant.
Edyn October 20, 2015
Hi John,
We have expanded the features of our Android app and continue to work hard at further building it out. We hope you download the newest version and would love to get your feedback. Thanks! Crashes The latest update crashes when I try to add a plant. Also, when will we be able to delete a plant?
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Michael,
The app does not crash on Nexus 6. You can easily add and delete plants by swiping left on the plant name and tapping 'delete.' Would you please update this review? The app and the device just don't work. Great idea, poor execution. I have had the device for a month now and nothing works. Instructions are little help. Trying to contact them for help is futile. Light blinks and won't stop. Help please!
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Charles,
The product definitely works. If you're having issues please contact support. Would you please update this review? Lacking features Sounds like everyone is aware, but the Android version is lacking the key feature relative to the iPhone version, adding plants to your garden. I'm sure it will be fixed soon, but until then I'll be using the app on my work iPhone!
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Tyler,
These features are available on Android and iOS. Would you please update your review accordingly? OK but needs improvement Looking forward to improvement. Pretty good so far but looks like moisture doesn't work... It's stays at about 34% whether it rains for 2 hours or we have 2 hot days... Mostly bought the sensor for this purpose but I can't trust it right now
Edyn October 26, 2016
Hi Ludwig,
Soil moisture does not change overnight. Would you please update your review? If you're having issues please contact support and we will happily assist you. Largely innacurate Consistently reads low moisture. Have been purposely over watering, to the point the soil is like soup. Readings never go above 4% moisture. Sensor says my soil is depleted, but it is brand new potting mixture. Once I receive the watering valve I do not trust it enough to install. If sensor is constantly reading dry, then it will water the entire day.
