A number of widely used places types are listed in the main screen.
Clicking on the map view MARKER icon will show a short info about the place.
Button on the top of the map view allows to display the places list format.
Click on the place information marker to shows the navigation options -
"Walking, Biking, Driving or using Public Transport".
Click on the navigation option you are interested, will start Google navigation to the place.
More info button can be used to get phone, website & opening times details(if available)
Using settings you can change the search radius and distance units
Since it is a NEAR BY SEARCH, maximum allowed radius is restricted
1. Data Allowance
Searching and using navigation will use the mobile data allowance if not connnected to a wi-fi network.
2. Number of search results
Number of search results are limited to 60 at a time (Google places restriction).
Reduce the radius (if not set to the minimum) to get accurate results if the maximum number of records are returned.
3. Accuracy of you location
Accuracy of your location is totally depends on the location received from the GPS or location services
This could lead to display varying results.
The app converts GPS location readings from your mobile phone to Ordnance Survey National Grid references, enabling you to determine precisely where you are on an Ordnance Survey map. No mobile signal? No problem; OS Locate does not require a mobile signal to function – the inbuilt GPS system can be relied upon, even in the most remote areas.
Simply download the app and switch on your device’s location services (Settings – Privacy – Location services).
Compass accuracy: the app relies on your device's internal compass and if this is inaccurate the displayed compass will be incorrect as well. Accuracy generally increases the longer you have the app open and many users report moving the device in a figure-eight help calibrate the compass and gives a more accurate reading. Of course, like any compass, keep away from metallic or magnetic objects!
