EXAM PREP — CHOOSE YOUR EXAM

UK edition (categories I, II, III and IV), based on the F-gas Regulation (EU) No 517/2014 as retained in Great Britain. 463 questions across 12 study groups:
1. Thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle
2. Environmental regulations and F-gas handling requirements
3. Pre-operational checks and system commissioning
4. Leak detection methods and equipment
5. Refrigerant handling, recovery and recycling
6. Compressors, condensers, evaporators and expansion valves
7. Pipework and system components
8. Alternative refrigerants and low-GWP solutions
9. Health and safety in refrigeration work

EU edition (certificate A1), based on Regulation (EU) 2024/573 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2215. 542 questions across 15 topics, adding EU F-gas law, flammable refrigerants (A2L and A3), and CO₂, ammonia and energy efficiency. Available in English, German, French, Italian, Polish and Spanish. Northern Ireland follows the EU F-gas rules, so technicians there should choose the EU edition.

Each answer includes a detailed explanation.
