I use two other sophisticated retirement calculators. I really like this one. There was nothing in my situation that I could not model. For instance, to model an annuity that will start in the middle of a 2020, I set up one pension for 2021+ ($25,000) and one pension for 2020-2020 ($12,500). I also like the tax calculations - great for long range tax planning.
Amazing! Customer Service is Very Helpful and Impressive Too!! Thank You for sharing this Important Tool with us!
Easy to use once you've figured one or two things out. It's easy to make changes and explore different scenarios. I recommend watching one or two of the videos to catch on.
I had some Google account credits that were to expire so I figured I would give this a shot. I typically have used some of the online early retirement calculators and just thought I'd see how this one worked. I personally didn't find the input very user-friendly and found it less informative than the online calculators I've been using. I have enjoyed the authors blog though and will continue to read that.
I’m an “analytics guy” by trade, so I’m usually not much impressed by the assortment of easily available financial calculators. However I found the Can I Retire Yet – Pro calculator to be enormously compelling. My wife compared my obsessive focus to that of a texting-crazed teenager. This high-fidelity financial modeling tool allowed me to create complex real-world scenarios that precisely fit my personal circumstance. But what made it really captivating was that as soon as I was able to model a particular segment of the retirement puzzle, some new insight would surface and direct my curiosity towards solving some intriguing new question that had occurred to me. Time after time the calculator proved it had the capability to accommodate the “what-if” scenarios and precision tweaking I wanted to explore. As is true for any app, there are always wish-list items that could make the app easier to use. I have no doubt that the future releases will continue to improve accessibility to the obvious power of the underlying modeling engine. Although I look forward to those enhancements with great anticipation, I don’t need to wait for them. I still have lots of new questions to model and expect that the current release will continue to provide new insights. This is the tool I’ve been waiting for – and like I said, I’m a numbers guy!
