About this app

OENO By Vintec is your virtual cellar management app and personal sommelier, powered by Vivino.

With OENO, wine lovers can effortlessly keep track of which wines they have, where they are located in their cellar(s) and know how to enjoy them at their best – with expert recommendations on when to open bottles, serving temperatures, decanting and glassware.

Whether you have a wine cabinet, a cellar, or even just a rack or a place where you keep your wines, OENO allows you to create a replica of your storage space so you can enjoy your wines at their best!

Made for wine lovers, by wine lovers, this is the first version of the app which is constantly being improved! Your opinion matters a lot to us and we would love to hear what you think about it and how we can improve it further.

HOW IT WORKS
1. CONFIRGURE - Create a virtual replica of your wine cellar(s)
2. SCAN & EXPLORE - Scan labels and see detailed information about wines
3. STORE - Place bottles in your virtual cellar and keep track of your collection
4. PAIR & TASTE – Get recommendations of wines from cellar to match your meals
5. ORDER & RESTOCK – And build your collection directly from the OENO app (Powered by Vivino Market).

WHY ‘OENO’?
The app is named OENO after the Goddess of Wine. According to Greek mythology, Oeno was the great-grandaughter of Dionysus, God of the Grape Harvest and Winemaking, who gave her the power to transform water into wine.

‘Oeno’ (UK) is commonly used as a prefix for words semantically connected to wine such as in oenology, the study of wine – or oenophile, a wine lover.

OENO’s correct pronunciation is “eno” with a silent “o”. In fact, in American English, ‘oeno’ is written without the initial ‘o’ - ‘eno’.

Recently getting "oops something went wrong". Was working well previously. Will not get past the start screen and gives error. Tried rebooting device twice. No luck. Can't add wine to my cellar or search since it won't continue post the start screen. No debugging or error information of available. I have over 100 bottles in the app.

Sadly, this app is just not ready for "prime time". The biggest failure is that the scanning is not accurate enough. Editing doesn't allow correction of the mistakes. We did about 40 wines (of 500+) yesterday, saving to the unstored bottle cache. 20% were wrong. Several vintages were wrong....2001 read as 2011. Some varieties were wrong-Pinot Noir instead of Gris. Chard instead of Cab. The lack of editability means that any sorting is invalid. Label scan is too small to use for editing.

Hi Dave, thanks for the feedback. We have just implemented text search to complement the label scans. Indeed, the recognition via scan is depending on Vivino, but the additional feature will give an alternative to scanning, and help you find wines more quickly / with less editing. We will send you more information via email.

Installed, set up, started to scan photos of wines. Constantly getting 'Oops something went wrong'. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Working on a Samsung galaxy tab S6 10.5. Everything up to date. Broken app

What's new

1. Possibility to move from Unshelved to Cellar of your choice.
2. Scan flow improvements: added ribbons and hints to help users through the process.
3. Link manually added wine to a wine in Vivino: this will complement your wine profile with rich information of vintages, grape varietal and serving and cellaring tips.
4. Overall usability improvements and fixes.
