The main purpose of the hydro-gun is the hydraulic separation of the streams. It makes the heating circuits dynamically independent during the transfer of the coolant motion, but at the same time transfers heat from one circuit to another well. Hence the other name of the hydro-gun is a hydraulic separator.
When calculating the hydro-gun it is important to obtain a slow vertical movement in the hydro-gun: no more than 0.1 - 0.2 meters per second.
The low velocity of the coolant in the hydraulic separator is needed in order to:
- allow to settle suspended particles of sand, sludge, etc.
- to enable the cold heat carrier to go down,
and the hot rushes upwards to obtain the necessary temperature head. For example, for a warm floor, a secondary heating circuit with a reduced coolant temperature can be obtained, and for an indirect heating boiler, a higher temperature of the coolant capable of intercepting the maximum temperature head can be obtained.
