Great for phone but pretty bare bones for Android Wear. I really love Endomondo, been a premium subscriber for years, but used my Tom Tom runner to log runs and sync later. I made to switch to Android Wear and was so disappointed to see that the Endomondo wear app only allowed me to change what info to display. I can't set goals, do a training plan run, or anything beyond basic tracking. Even then the app never really told me if it had a solid gps lock. I started off when I saw a green GPS signal but looks like it got worse as the final map showed me running through houses and odd zig zags. That issue didn't occur when I used the watch's default app which actually let me know when it had a solid lock and I could start. Here's hoping Endomondo invests in Android Wear development as I really love the site and phone app.
I've been using this app for 4 years and have LOVED it in the past. Recently, the GPS has stopped functioning on hikes and runs. The map doesn't work at all. Also, the calorie count is WAY TOO HIGH (probably because the GPS isn't working). 900+ calories is absurd for a 30 minute easy hike of not even a mile. Also, the history has stopped syncing. I can't see any work outs after May 11th. I use this app for both my personal life and teachable moments during trail work. Please fix whatever has been going on! I love Endomondo and I don't want to switch to a new app.
Despite changing nothing since the last time I had GPS issues that took weeks to resolve , the latest update of the app has undone all of those fixes. On a crystal clear, sunny morning, the GPS couldn't stay connected, despite the clock continuing to run. The app used to be great, and despite paying for the premium membership for 3 years, the GPS reliability has become less and less reliable as time has gone on. In short, save the money and buy a smart watch or something that has a better track record.
Both my husband and ran our Endomondo ap on an 82 mile bike ride. Completely different results particularily calorie count. 1000 kcal difference. Mine had me going at one point over 87 miles an hour. The route map was accurate bit likely the only think that was.
I have used few sports trackers but none is as simple and clean as Endomondo. Even in free version it provides every important features. As usual free version will display advertisement but who is going to see the advertisement in the sports tracker app while keeping themselves busy running or walking. The experience will be more refined if you use a heart beat sensor.
The app works as other fitness tracking app. I would like other users to beware of their premium feature. I was once on Endomondo often, however since I stopped using it as often I decided to cancel my subscription. I figured since my yearly subscription renewed 2 months ago, I could recover some of the money I paid. No can do. Unless you absolutely need the premium features, I would highly recommend not becoming one. Life's priority change. Don't be stuck like me over paying for this app!
