Great for phone but pretty bare bones for Android Wear. I really love Endomondo, been a premium subscriber for years, but used my Tom Tom runner to log runs and sync later. I made to switch to Android Wear and was so disappointed to see that the Endomondo wear app only allowed me to change what info to display. I can't set goals, do a training plan run, or anything beyond basic tracking. Even then the app never really told me if it had a solid gps lock. I started off when I saw a green GPS signal but looks like it got worse as the final map showed me running through houses and odd zig zags. That issue didn't occur when I used the watch's default app which actually let me know when it had a solid lock and I could start. Here's hoping Endomondo invests in Android Wear development as I really love the site and phone app.
The app works as other fitness tracking app. I would like other users to beware of their premium feature. I was once on Endomondo often, however since I stopped using it as often I decided to cancel my subscription. I figured since my yearly subscription renewed 2 months ago, I could recover some of the money I paid. No can do. Unless you absolutely need the premium features, I would highly recommend not becoming one. Life's priority change. Don't be stuck like me over paying for this app!
Despite changing nothing since the last time I had GPS issues that took weeks to resolve , the latest update of the app has undone all of those fixes. On a crystal clear, sunny morning, the GPS couldn't stay connected, despite the clock continuing to run. The app used to be great, and despite paying for the premium membership for 3 years, the GPS reliability has become less and less reliable as time has gone on. In short, save the money and buy a smart watch or something that has a better track record.
From one side it's a great application, very good motivational structure and it's fun to use... it would be fun to use if it works properly. To tell the truth it's the worst working app a have ever had - half of the time I'm using it, it's having problems. Just now the program crashed in the way that no other app did before and all todays training progress ir lost, sad though.
I really enjoy the free version. I find it does more than other free running apps. I also enjoy the split times. But I have to say there are enough good free apps and other good paid apps that I guarantee I will never pay a monthly or yearly subscription for the upgrade. Offer a one-time fee and I am all in but with this subscription thing you always risk losing me.
I have been using for two years now and came across a major flaw. The map scale when following a route is dangerous. Turns only appear at the last moment. Tried zooming out and then recentred map... it zoomed back in again. Keep having to hit the brakes at last second!
