The Colonoscopy Helper is the first smartphone app that provides a complete, step-by-step multi-media guidance for colonoscopy preparation. There are 13 reminders, spread over 10 days including reminders before and after the procedure. It navigates colonoscopy preparation with GPS-like precision with graphic illustrations, texts, and audio directions to ensure that the bowel prep is done just right. It also reminds important medication(s) that may need to be adjusted, held, and resumed at appropriate time and interval. Finally, it alerts important symptoms following colonoscopy that may require a prompt medical attention. Colonoscopy Helper is really a very helpful and essential companion to having colonoscopy examination.
Colonoscopy is an examination that enables a careful evaluation of the lining of the colon (large intestine) for abnormalities. It is performed by inserting a colonoscope which is made with a flexible tube with a camera at the end. During colonoscopy, this instrument is inserted into the anus and slowly advanced inside the colon. It is a test commonly utilized as a diagnostic tool in colon cancer screening. In addition to diagnosing colon cancer, colonoscopy is often used to evaluate gastrointestinal bleeding (GI bleeding), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease.
Available also in Spanish.

Through the RNShare network nurses will interact, share and educate each other.
Most importantly, our focus is on nursing education. Educational content will be provided in a variety of formats.
Let us continue to grow the nursing profession together!
RNShare has joined forces with GreatNurses.com ( Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio, RN, PhD) and MP Outfitters to bring a well rounded network that all nurses can enjoy
The app has 28 categories ( e.g Trauma, ) and subcategories. These cards are brief pertinent info on given topics. You also have the opportunity to add your own card.
The app is brought to you by the Surgery Education Network ( www.surgres.net). It is a free service designed to provide a platform for interactive educational pursuits in the field of surgery. We facilitate the exchange of ideas.
The Surgery Education Network ( S.E.N) is an edu-social site. ( www.surgres.net ) Share – Engage - Learn- Integrate Our platform has enabled students of surgery to come together and educate each other. S.E.N facilitates the exchange of information by enabling users to provide educational content. The content stimulates members to join discussions, respond to blogs, start forums, add videos etc. As members interpret content and add their own individual content, the entire community has the opportunity to learn. We all share a desire to continue our surgical education at any level. We believe that medical education can be transformed using web-based and mobile technology. We have utilized the cases on the network and incorporated them into an app to further enhance mobile learning. These are high yield real cases presented in a concise manner. We believe when presented in such a format retention of the information improves. In addition, may such apps do not have the images in addition to the pertitent case questions. There is always room for more cases and as S.E.N grows we will continue to update the app with more relevant cases. Enjoy.
