Butterflies and Bees play an important role in the Web of Life. Many butterflies are closely linked to specific plants and habitats. Bees are one of the most important pollinators, and many flowering plants depend on them. By understanding the significance of Bees and Butterflies in our environment, we can enthusiastically participate in their conservation.
Butterflies and Bees App is an initiative of Earthwatch Institute India to facilitate easy identification of some of the butterflies and bees in the field using mobile application. It is hoped that this mobile application will help increase public awareness and generate greater interest regarding butterflies and bees amongst the young citizens in our country. The App will further strengthen our keenness to observe the bees and butterflies and help us as Citizen Scientist in contributing to the knowledge base.

A science lab in your pocket. For students, educators, and citizen scientists.
Pocket Lab is a wireless sensor and software platform that enables students and educators to build hands-on science experiments and analyze experimental data in a low cost and easy-to-use product.
We are scientists, engineers, and teachers. We are passionate about getting science out of the lab and into the hands of students and enthusiasts.
Pocket Lab has won the Grand Prize and the Audience Award at the Yale School of Management Education Leadership conference business plan competition. See the EdSurge coverage.

Ever thought your voice is amazing and meant to be recorded?
Want to possibly make a few $$ for your contribution?
Then this app is for you!
This app was created to assist in the collection of audio samples for a
PhD thesis project. The audio collected will be used in the creation of
a large data set of mobile audio samples for use in audio research,
including voice biometric research.
This app will show different types of prompts and ask you to record a
short audio sample in response to the prompts. The prompts include an
image description, an answer to a question, and a phrase to repeat.
Recordings take place in sessions. The app includes 160 unique prompts
broken into sessions. Each session consists of 20 recordings. Each
session should take around 2-3 minutes to finish. The app allows up to
40 sessions per device. Try to complete all 40 sessions!
When finished, you can send the results using the email function
provided in the app or you can submit them to Amazon Mechanical Turk for
a small cash incentive (for a limited time only). Submissions are
anonymous. If submitted via an email, the files are automatically
processed without saving the sender information. If submitting to Amazon
Mechanical Turk for the cash incentive, please sign in as a worker and
then search for HITs containing “securics” or “vaulted voice
If using Amazon Mechanical Turk, 1 HIT will be paid per 1 session. The
more sessions you complete the more $$ you can earn! After each session
upload the resulting .inc file to Mechanical Turk results page.
