The App itself is pretty smooth and streamlined. The "News" alerts I get are a huge downfall. Instead of relevant NFL news, I am getting alerts on what Dez Bryant's new shoes are. I'm not exaggerating. I'll be uninstalling the App this year and just stick to Twitter feeds instead. Again, the App itself was fine. (Good job devs!) It was the content generators, specifically the alerts, that spoil it for me and honestly, the alerts are the main reason why I have the app.
A bunch of crap I don't care about This would (and used to) be a great app if I didn't have to wade through a million scores for games and sports I couldn't care less about. It makes no sense to set my favorite team to the Philadelphia Eagles but have to scroll through every baseball, soccer and wnba score to get to them.
Podcasts can't be queued up for cont. play I've selected my favorite podcasts and picked a few episodes but the app doesn't allow me to queue them for continuous playing. When I'm commuting, the last thing I will do is try to navigate this app while driving!! Maybe this feature is best for PCs and tablets while stationary.
Two Problems For Me I like the app overall. There are two issues that are very annoying, however. First, I can never load the comments on articles. Reading about people's opinions on sports news is somthing I'd like to be able to do. Second, the volume on videos always shuts off whenever I fast forward or backwards. This is also incredibly annoying, as one may imagine. Fixes for both issues would be much appreciated.
Bring back the radio app In July, ESPN discontinued support of the ESPNRadio app, opting to use this app. Now, radio broadcasts continue to play after an auxiliary cable is disconnected, even in your ear during a phone call. You also have to close the radio and ESPN app separately, or the app will continue to run, eating data & battery life. I am unable to have my cell at my desk during work hours and on several occasions have returned to my phone to find it nearly dead because the app had been running even after I closed it.
FAIL!!! It says "Access to live video is available for free to fans that receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider." Well, I get internet from Xfinity Comcast which you say is one of your supported providers and automatically signed me into (I'm assuming because I'm connected. I was never asked to enter my username and pw for this provider.) Thought I'd be able to watch Hawaii vs. Michigan... NOPE!
