Still a work in progress. Stability and speed has improved a lot, but not enough to the point where I would use it on a daily basis. Low light photos and HDR mode are still noisy as heck. Bump up the processing speed and low light/HDR quality and I'll bump up the star rating. For now I'll stick to the side loaded Pixel camera port.
After the update, the app is still unacceptably slow and HDR mode has trouble focusing. Low light, terrible. I can live with outdoor pics. Interesting that the company markets the camera as a world class camera that captures 200% more light than other methods. Fingers crossed for more updates. The phone is great otherwise.
Unacceptably buggy. Everytime I use it, without fail, it either crashes the entire phone, fails to actually take the picture, or shows very sluggish responsiveness. This is after the Sept 8th update. Just about any other camera app is better than this one.
Latest update (9/8) brought this from a 2 to 6 on scale of 1-10. Still slow with frequent stuttering and freezes, especially with 360 camera. However, at least it's usable now. Will still use Google Camera for now.
I am pretty disappointed with the camera quality. Many photos do not save, it takes an extremely long time for a picture to save to gallery after it's been taken. I have lost many pictures thinking that they were just saving but never appeared in my gallery. Toggling HDR turns flash on. I have used both the Moto z2 Force and Huawei Mate 9, I'm really confused as to why the camera experience is so far off from those 2 devices.
Looks nice, just needs to actually work. Settings resetting on every open is just annoying. Stability is also inconsistent. It's a gamble whether or not it'll crash upon opening and have a "fatal error", when other apps work just fine. I want this to be my camera app, it just will obviously need some improvement and time to get there.
Speed up color/mono image fusion.
Fix 360 video saving.
General stability fixes.
