Keep in touch with the people who matter, by sending them an SMS as you approach your destination.
This app does exactly that, without you having to interact with the phone, keeping you safe and legal as you continue on your journey.
The name Proxymate comes from the English word Proximate, meaning "very near; close in space or time". Alternatively, it can be considered a "Proxy mate", namely, someone who acts on your behalf.
Proxymate requires either an Internet connection or a GPS to function correctly. It will perform best if both are enabled, but will use most battery power in this state.
With only the GPS enabled, your own position is more precise, but the distance to your destination can only be calculated "as the crow flies". It is also not possible to measure your proximity using "Time" with the GPS alone.
With only an Internet connection enabled, your own coordinates are less precise, but the distance to your destination can be calculated using accurate routes and can be measured in either "Time" or "Distance". Battery use should be noticeably better without the GPS enabled.
