Vector Inspect is an application made within LOVCEN project with the intention of collecting field samples more efficiently for the purposes of scientific research conducted within the project. LOVCEN project began in May 2014 with the goal of monitoring mosquitos and mosquito-borne diseases. The efficient monitoring of mosquitos and other vectors is of crucial importance since infectious diseases are a growing threat to Europe as well as the entire world. The users of Vector Inspect application can actively participate in the project by sending photos of an observed insect specimen (mosquitos in the first place) through this application, and that way give a contribution to collecting as large amount of data as possible and consequently make the final results of the project better and more accurate. Apart from that, the application offers an overview of some of the research results in form of an interactive map which displays all identified species and their occurrence frequency for each Montenegrin municipality. The application also contains a survey on the topic of mosquito repelling and prevention of mosquito-borne diseases.
