Keeping a journal/ diary is imperative; as some medications can hinder memory, and keeping a record of your daily moods is vital – since when you’re down, you can then reflect back easily on happier days :). It can also be used to help prevent episodes, by assisting your doctor to adjust your medication.
Even on a terrible day, there are still positive things that’ve happened, so it is encouraged to also write down positive things that have occurred.
