Flexibility + ease of use can't be beat. I've tried different apps. First a timer for running called "Couch to 5K," but intervals were hard-wired, couldn't be changed. Tried a stopwatch, but no audible signal, also complicated to program. This app was the third try and I am super happy with it. Does what it says and does it simply & perfectly. Time to switch to the paid version - not that the free version isn't perfect, more to reward the developers for a job well done.

review edit: appreciate the response from the dev. the solution to my issue worked. though now using the app is more clunky of an experience for me but it works alright now used to be a nice simple timer but i have been having issues with audio in the app. the sounds for each interval keep getting thrown out of sync or go away entirely... i don't even have music going while the app is running... now it's happening more frequently. not very helpful when trying to do a workout

If you output sound to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, this is the reason. Bluetooth is not designed to play sounds, it is designed to play music. The difference is that the music is constant. Sounds play after a period of silence. Just turn on some music and it will fix this. If it happens in the background, disable background work restrictions

This app has been working great for me for a few years, and I recommended it to multiple friends. Developer please: recently noticed that I can no longer connect to HealthConnect / Google fit / Fitbit, which used to work. I did some googling and found that an app needs to meet certain Google security guidelines otherwise will be blocked from assess, and there's no way around it -- I can disallow apps to access my data if they meet the security guidelines, but cannot allow apps if they don't.

Unfortunately, yes. Google is introducing new rules targeting large companies, based on strict EU and US rules on access to health data. Google now considers all data in Google Fit highly sensitive. Any app that uses their Google Fit API must undergo an annual security audit from Google. I don't see how an individual developer can meet them :(

What’s new

💪 Fix for the Pause on call feature for devices with Android 12+. It now requires READ_PHONE_STATE permission.
💪 Added instructions for disabling background restrictions. This is necessary so that the timer works reliably in the background when you lock the screen or open another app on top.
💪 Minor bug fixes.
